EXT. ATHLETIC CENTER - MORNING

SEAN, 15 is walking out of an Athletic Center while being

completely indulged in his phone while his best friend ARAMIS,
15, walks beside him.

ARAMIS
How long have you been texting her?

Sean finally diverts his attention from his phone and looks to
Aramis.

SEAN
A couple of days. Why?

ARAMIS
Why? Because you still haven’t gone up to her. How’d you even
get her number?

SEAN
She’s in my math class group chat.

ARAMIS
Okay well, when do you plan on asking her?

SEAN
We’re both going on the trip to Garret Mountain so... soon.

ARAMIS
You better hurry before someone else does it before you. Don’t
be nervous man, just be yourself.

Sean goes back to texting on his phone.

ARAMIS
Look, I have this coin my grandfather gave me.

Aramis pulls out a coin.

ARAMIS
He told me whenever you flip it and it lands on heads, it gives
you good luck, however, if it lands on tails, you’ll have bad
luck.

Sean looks to Aramis.

SEAN
And you believe that?

ARAMIS
Trust me, it works. Try it and see what happens. It could help.

Aramis hands the coin over to Sean.

Sean is walking while staring at the coin in his hand. Sean

flips the coin and catches it in his hand. The coin lands on
heads.

SEAN
I don’t feel any different.

ARAMIS
Just wait.

Sean waits for a while, and nothing happens.

SEAN
I knew you were lying.

Aramis shrugs, and they keep walking until Sean spots money on
the floor and picks it up.

SEAN
No way.

ARAMIS
I told you.

Sean looks at the coin.

INT. CLASSROOM - MORNING

GRAM, 15 Sean’s classmate, turns to Sean.

GRAM
Did you study for the test?

SEAN
We have a test?

GRAM
Yeah, in a couple of minutes.

SEAN
My grade can’t take an F.

Sean takes out the coin and flips it. It lands on heads. Sean
takes his test and hands it in. A while later, his test is
handed back to him, and he gets a 100. Sean lets out a sigh of
relief.

INT. HALLWAY - MORNING

ARAMIS
Did you ask her yet?

SEAN
No.

ARAMIS
Well, there she goes right there.

SEAN
What, where?

Sean turns to find WILLOW, 15, Sean’s crush, standing in a

corner while talking to SASHA, 15, Willow's friend.

ARAMIS
Ask her.

Sean gulps and flips the coin, and it lands on heads. He walks
to Willow.

SEAN
Hey, willow.

WILLOW
Hey, Sean, how are you?

SEAN
I’m good, actually. I heard you were going on the trip to Garret
Mountain, and I was wondering if you would like to hang out
together since I’m going too.

WILLOW
Yeah, sure, I’m down.

SEAN
Great, I’ll see you there.

Sean walks back to Aramis, and they high-five.

EXT. GARRET MOUNTAIN - MORNING

Sean stands alone while sipping his drink and texting Willow.

WILLOW (VIA TEXT)

Where are you?

SEAN (VIA TEXT)

By the rocks.

WILLOW (VIA TEXT)

On my way!

Sean flips the coin, but this time it lands on tails.

SEAN
No, no, no, not right now...

Sean begins to panic and gets ready to flip the coin again, but
Willow comes up and interrupts him.

WILLOW
Hey!

Sean is surprised and spills his drink on Willow’s shirt.

SEAN
Oh my god! I am so sorry.

WILLOW
It’s fine, it's my fault anyway. It’ll wash off.

They walk along the forest path.

WILLOW
Have you ever been here before?

SEAN
Huh?

WILLOW
I said, have you ever been here before?

SEAN
I can’t hear you.

WILLOW
Nevermind.

They continue walking until Sean trips on a branch and falls.

Willow laughs at Sean as he gets up.

SEAN (embarrassed)
I have to use the bathroom.

Sean runs away to the restroom and looks at the coin.

SEAN - VO
Should I flip it again and try to get heads?

Sean has a flashback of Aramis.

ARAMIS
Don’t be nervous, man, just be yourself.

SEAN
Nah, I got this.

Sean throws the coin far away, getting rid of it. Sean goes back
to see Willow starting to walk away.

SEAN
Hey! Where are you going?

WILLOW (jokingly)
I thought you left me. You seemed upset.

SEAN
I was, but I thought we could try again.

Willow smiles at Sean.

WILLOW
Okay, well, I want to show you something c’mon.

She grabs his hand, and they walk off into the forest with each
other.
