Purnea
Ghurrah
• Native to Bareilly division of Uttar Pradesh
• These are black colored, medium sized, with flat belly with angular body and
long straight snout.
• Legs below the hock joint are white.
Banda
• Banda pig is native of Jharkhand, mainly reared for pork and manure.
• Animals are black colored, having short and erect ear.
• These animals are having medium to short bristle on neck with a long and concave snout.
Manipuri Black
• Manipuri Black is native pig of Manipur state, mainly reared for meat.
• Adult body weight averages about 96.0 kg in males and 93.0 kg in females.
• Litter size ranges from 6 to 11 at birth. Meat is preferred for its taste by local people.
Wak Chambil
• Wak Chambil is a small sized pig with round and pendulous belly.
• It is mainly distributed in Garo Hills of Meghalaya.
• Pork is known for its unique flavour and taste and cherished during religious and
ceremonial occasions by local people.

• The carcass has 65-70% fat and 30-35% lean meat.
• The lard from Mangalica pigs is different from other pig lard as it is
lighter and melts at a lower temperature.

• Red Wattle pigs have robust, massive bodies and a red coat, with fleshy, wattle-like protuberances on their necks.
• The meat of the Red Wattle pig has a very dark red color.
• Meat is marbled and has a delicious flavor.
Kunekune
• These pigs come in different colors, including black, white, ginger,
cream, gold, black and white, and even tricolored.
• They can live for 8 to 16 years, give birth to 6 to 12 piglets per litter, and
weigh up to 220 lbs.
Gloucestershire Old Spot
• Gloucestershire Old Spot(GOS) is one of the oldest pedigree spotted pigs
in the world.
• Sows able to have an average of 10 piglets per litter, with some having up
to 12.
• Sows possess great maternal skills
• High milk production.
Mulefoot
• They are small in size, with black color, and sometimes have white markings. They
are named after their appearance, as they have a mule-like foot with a non-split hoof.
• The sows have good mothering skills, giving birth to an average of five piglets per
litter.
