Performance Management Architecture Overview

• Groups of counters activated/deactivated
within Flexi Multiradio BTS with NetAct
tools.
• The measurement interval is NetAct
configurable to 15, 30 or 60 minutes or 6, BTS Site manager Reporting Suite (RS)
PM
12, or 24 hours.
Administration of Network Performance
• The upload interval is configurable (15, Measurements (AoM) Manager (NPM)
30 or 60 min)
• When the reporting interval expires a
notification is sent to NetAct indicating iOMS
that on or more PM files are ready for
transfer

BTS

14 RA41331EN160GLA0 © Nokia Solutions and Networks 2016

Performance measurements are created depending on the activation and initially stored in
the Flexi eNB
In default setting in MR BTS all PM counters are activated and will be reported
PM counters of a measurement type can be activated/de-activated within MR BTS with
NetAct Configuratior or BTS Site Manager
Only counters belonging to activated measurement type are reported
If some counters within a counter group belong to an optional feature then these counters
are only reported if the feature is enabled
The collection of measurement files is uploaded periodically to the NetAct via iOMS
upload interval triggering the upload towards NetAct is fixed to 60 minutes up to RL20 and
configurable (15,30,60 min) in RL30 onwards (LTE877 feature)

PM Data Structure
- Operator is able to activate
different measurement types
(group of logically related PM-
counters) per Flexi Multiradio
BTS Measurement type Z
PM-report file
- One file per measurement type
per granularity period is created
- After expiry of the upload interval
all measurement type files are
merged into a single PM-report
file which is uploaded to NMS Measurement type X
- Each PM-report file is stored for
24 hours before being deleted
