How to create a network?

• To create a network, we need some kind of connection between the sending and receiving machines.
That connection can be a wired or wireless connection. So through the connection, the data will move
from one device to another device.
HOW MANY TYPES OF NETWORK DO YOU KNOW?
• There are many different types on networks available. Network can be
differentiated by their size, structure. distance, and purpose. So
networks are divided mainly into four types:

• PAN (Personal Area Network)

• LAN ( Local Area Network)
• MAN (Metropolitan Area Network)
• WAN ( Wide Area Network)
LOCAL AREA NETWORK (LAN)

• LAN is a collection of devices connected together in one physical location, such as a building, office, or
home. A LAN can be small or large, ranging from a home network with one user to an enterprise
network with thousands of users and devices in an office or school.

• When computers connect to

each other on the same
network, it is called a local area
network, or LAN.
WIDE AREA NETWORK (WAN)

WAN is a type of network that provides transmission of

voice, data, images, and videos over the large
geographical area. WAN is made with the combinations
of LAN and MAN. The transmission of data is carried out
with the help of hubs, switches, fiber optics, modem, and
routers.

When multiple networks are connected to each

other, it is called a wide area network, or WAN.
WHAT IS ROUTER IN NETWORKING? WHAT IS MODEM?
• Router is an internetworking device, that • It is a networking device that
receives IP packets from one computer modulates digital data from a computer
network and forwards it to another computer into analog signals for transmission over
network. a communication line.
• A router is a device that connects two or more
packet-switched networks or subnetworks.
INTERNET
• A global system of interconnected computers, using a standardized
Internet Protocol suite for communication and sharing information is
called the Internet.
ISP
• ISP stands for Internet Service Provider. This helps in providing direct
access for using the internet from your office or home, connected
through landlines. With the introduction of Wi-fi and broadband,
connecting to the Internet has become wireless.

assigned for any device connected to a network. It acts as an
identification interface for Internet users.
