1 - Jan-Nov 2023 - Monthly Release On Vital Events - As of 31 January 2024 - ONS
The data on the number of births, marriages, and deaths (vital events) presented in this regular m
obtained from the vital events registered, either timely or belatedly, at the appropriate Office of the
Registrar throughout the country and subsequently submitted for encoding to the Office of the Civ
through the Provincial Statistical Offices (PSOs) of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA). The i
includes vital events that occurred from January to November 2023 based on data files received
Registration Service (CRS) from the PSOs and has undergone initial processing as of 31 January
figures presented herein are still provisional and may differ from the final count. (1) The vital event
are not yet included in this release, but Filipinos whose usual residence is abroad and foreign nat
occurring in the country during the reference period were included in this report.

BIRTH STATISTICS
· The provisional number of registered births from January to November 2023 reached 1,062,112. W
2024 in processing the birth certificates, this is lower by 19.9 percent than the total registered births of 1
· Among regions, Region IV-A (CALABARZON) recorded the highest number of registered births fr
or 15.5 percent of the total births in the country.
· The National Capital Region (NCR) registered 125,955 births from January to November 2023, or
146,423 births registered in the same period in 2022. Among its cities/municipality, Quezon City record
at 26,287 or 20.9 percent of the total births in the region.
· Cavite recorded the highest number of registered births from January to November 2023 among p
total births in the country, followed by the provinces of Rizal (37,060 or 3.5% share) and Bulacan (35,91
MARRIAGE STATISTICS
· The provisional number of registered marriages from January to November 2023 reached 327,47
processing the birth certificates, this preliminary count is lower by 16.8 percent than the total registered
in 2022.
· Among regions, CALABARZON recorded the highest number of registered marriages from Janua
percent of the total marriages in the country.
· NCR registered 43,850 marriages from January to November 2023, or a 9.1 percent decrease fro
same period in 2022. Among its cities/municipality, the Quezon City recorded the highest number of re
percent of the total marriages in the region.
· The provinces of Cavite, Batangas and Pangasinan registered the most numbers of marriages fro
(4.0% share), 12,357 (3.8% share), and 10,415 (3.2% share), respectively.
DEATH STATISTICS
· The provisional number of registered deaths from January to November 2023 reached 531,065, lo
registered deaths of 621,298 in the same period in 2022. The cut-off date for processing the death certi
marriage certificates which was on 31 January 2024.
· Among regions, CALABARZON recorded the highest number of registered deaths from January t
percent of the total deaths in the country.
· NCR registered 67,239 deaths from January to November 2023, or a 7.0 percent decrease from t
period in 2022. Quezon City recorded the highest number of registered deaths in the NCR from January
percent of the total deaths in the region.
· The province of Cavite recorded the highest number of registered deaths among provinces from J
4.1 percent of the total deaths in the country. This was followed by Bulacan with 19,758 deaths (3.7% s
share.
