UPDATE ON POSTING OF SCHOOL PRINCIPALS

Sequel to the recent circular letter released by the Osun State

Government on guidelines for the implementation of the new retirement age
and length of service for the teaching profession with Ref No:
SMD.61VOL.IV/34 dated: 2nd April, 2024, SMD61/VOL.111/36 dated: 31st
May, 2022 and 61/VOL.IV/52 dated: 20 TH October 2023 from the Office of
the Head of Service which specified the conditions of eligibility for those
who wish and equally qualified to enjoy the elongation, the Commission is
not unaware that some schools must have been without Principals by now as
a result of the Federal Government Policy which the State is bound to key in
to.
2. The intention of the Commission was to fill the vacancies created
before the date of resumption for third term 2023/2024 academic session.
This is no longer feasible as a result of complaints from various quarters and
enormity of the job borne out of the seniority lists given to the Commission
which could have ordinarily assisted the posting seamlessly. To ensure
diligence, the Commission needs time to solve the problem with ingenuity so
as not to create more problems in an attempt to solve a problem.
3 In the light of the aforesaid, as a matter of urgency, a tentative
arrangement is imperative to fill the vacant positions. Hence, the Commission
has directed that all affected Principals to hand over to the Most Senior Vice
Principals in their schools. Therefore the Vice Principal in the schools, whose
Principals have been affected by the circular should take charge until
‘Substantive Principals’ are posted.
