What is research and investigation?

Research is based on human activity, intellectual, investigation and is aimed at discovering, interpreting
and revising human knowledge on the different aspects of the world. Research is also an activity that
people find information and knowledge with an open attitude by using a scientific method to set up a new
fact. investigation is the process of seeking information by questioning into a matter through follow-up,
study, or formal procedure of discovery. The act or process of investigating is a careful search or
examination in order to discover facts thoroughly and systematically.

- Gathering information is the first step where a hacker tries to get information about the target.
Hackers use different sources and tools to get more information, and some of them are briefly
explained here.
- Library offers you dive into the ocean of knowledge. all useful books and information is available
easily. Advantages of studying in the library Libraries are perfect spaces for study, since they
allow you to have all the necessary material on hand.
- A patent is a type of intellectual property that gives its owner the legal right to exclude others
from making, using, or selling an invention for a limited period of years in exchange for
publishing an enabling disclosure of the invention. Intellectual Property is a work or invention
that is the result of creativity, such as a manuscript or a design, to which one has rights, and for
which one may apply for a patent, copyright or trademark.
Communication and Presentation Skills and Strategies

Data Collection and Calculating Results

- Data collection is the process of gathering and measuring information on variables of interest, in
an established systematic fashion that enables one to answer stated research questions, test
hypotheses, and evaluate outcomes. A calculation is a deliberate process that transforms one or
more inputs into one or more results.

Presenting Data – Graphing and other Techniques

- This refers to the organization of data into tables, graphs or charts, so that logical and statistical
conclusions can be derived from the collected measurements. Data may be presented in 3
Methods: Textual, Tabular or Graphical.

Presentation and Document Basics

- A presentation is a means of communication that can be adapted to various speaking situations,

such as talking to a group, addressing a meeting or briefing a team. A document is a form of
information. A document can be put into an electronic form and stored in a computer as one or
more file s. Often a single document becomes a single file. An entire document or individual
parts may be treated as individual data items. This can be a Word, Power Point, or Excel.

Sketching and Drawing

- Technically speaking, sketching is a freehand drawing that is made using multiple pass lines to
create a picture with minimum details and a lot of suggestions. It is drawn without using any tools
and even eraser. Drawing, on the other hand, has more details and is made using pencils, crayons,
pastel, markers, etc. to give more effect. Drawing makes use of tools to create single pass lines
that are neater and cleaner than a rough hand sketch. Drawings are begun with more forethought
and planning than a sketch would never get.

Perspective Drawing

- Perspective drawing is a technique that gives three-dimensionality to flat images.

Working Drawing

- a scale drawing which serves as a guide for the construction or manufacture of something such as
a building or machine.
Information Graphics
- Information graphics are a form of content marketing and have become a tool for internet marketers and
companies to create content that others will link to, thus possibly boosting a company's reputation and
online presence. Religious denominations have also started using infographics.

Charts and Graphs

- Charts and graphs elevate your data by providing an easy-to-understand visualization of numeric
values. While the terms are often used interchangeably, they are slightly different. Graphs are the
most basic way to represent data visually, and typically display data point values over a duration
of time.

Schematic Diagrams

- A schematic is defined as a picture that shows something in a simple way, using symbols. A
schematic diagram is a picture that represents the components of a process, device, or other object
using abstract, often standardized symbols and lines.

Block Diagram

- a diagram showing in schematic form the general arrangement of the parts or components of a
complex system or process, such as an industrial apparatus or an electronic circuit.

Flow Chart

- A flowchart is a type of diagram that represents a workflow or process. A flowchart can also be
defined as a diagrammatic representation of an algorithm, a step-by-step approach to solving a
task.

Guidelines in Effective Presentation

 Keep it simple so you don't distract from your research.

 Use at least 24-point type.
 Do not use a photocopy of a standard printed page as a display.
 Summarize your main points.
 Limit your material to eight lines per slide.
 Limit tables to four rows/columns.
 Display large tables as graphs.
Tools in Effective Presentation

- PowerPoint, Google Slides and Keynote can all be used to create presentations, you can break the
conventional method – basic points on simple slides – by including images, creating movement,
and limiting each slide or section to only a couple key points.
