E-FOLIO MEMOIRS

OBJECTIVE: Summarize your Senior Project experience by reflecting on your entire process and writing a memoir on your journey.

You will be graded on the following requirements:

● What were the best and worst parts of the Senior Project/Senior Seminar?

○ The best parts of my senior project were seeing the floor come together and the difference between the

before and after of the flooring. It was also really nice when I finished a part that was pretty difficult to do.

○ The worst part was cutting the wood to fit between the door frames. It was really difficult to get the right

measurements.

● List three things you now know after completing your Senior Project.

○ I know what tools to use to rip up carpet and lay down wood flooring.

○ I know how to lay flooring to make it look more natural and like real wood flooring.

○ I know how to use a power saw and other tools to cut the wood.

● Which aspect of the Senior Project/Senior Seminar stretched you the most? How did you feel about and react to this

challenge?

○ The part that stretched me the most was cutting the wood because I have never cut wood before or used any

of those tools. It took a little bit of learning and some courage to actually use the tools but I eventually

learned.

● How has the Senior Project/Senior Seminar changed you (skills, attitudes, work habits, capabilities, confidence, poise,

presentation, etc.)?

○ My senior project has changed me because I now know how to rip up carpet which I never knew how to do

before, same with laying down the flooring. I have a better attitude toward building and putting down flooring

because I had a lot of fun doing it and I realized how much work it took to do it and how long it takes to do it.

● Has this experience influenced your future plans?

○ My project has kind of influenced my future plans before I planned on going into electrician work but I'm

thinking I might become a carpenter because I really like seeing my work all come together in the end.

● What would you do differently if you had to do the whole Senior Project/Senior Seminar process again?

○ What I would do differently is be more prepared with everything. At first I was going to do a whole different

project and then I switched to redoing flooring which in my opinion was way more interesting.

● What advice do you have for next year’s seniors?

○ My advice is to not procrastinate because I procrastinate a lot and it doesn't help with anything. It will just

make you more stressed about if you're going to finish on time and when you have time to do everything.

Make sure you research what you want to do before going into something you know nothing about.

● What grade would you give yourself for your Senior Project and what justification do you have for that grade?

○ I would give myself a B because I was pretty new to what I was doing so it wasn't the best work like a

professional could have done and I slacked off on doing it for a little while because I kept telling myself that I

would have time and then got it done at the last minute. Gave myself a lot of unnecessary stress.
