Question 2 – Evaluate the following:

a) 𝒚 is a prime number and also satisfies 7 < 2𝑦 − 3 ≤ 25


List the possible values of y.

b) 𝒛 is a factor of 24. Give the value of 𝑧 if 3 < 𝑧 < 6.

c) If 𝒙 is a member of the set of whole numbers, state the SMALLEST value of 𝑥


which satisfies the inequality: 12 ≤ 3𝑥 + 5.

d) Given that 𝑥 < 2 and 𝑥 ≥ 3, list the possible values of 𝒙 when:


(i) 𝑥 is an integer
(ii) 𝑥 is a natural number

e) The length, 𝐿, of a rectangle is 3cm more than twice its width, 𝑊. Determine
the relation between 𝐿 and 𝑊.

f) Find the integer 𝒙 so that 𝑥 + 1 < 7 < 𝑥 + 3. Bonus Question
