Virtual Symposium know before you log in

We are so excited to have you join us for the DSMIG USA Virtual Symposium! Below you will find the
full schedule as well as the links to access the event. As an attendee, we expect you to abide by the
Virtual Code of Conduct found here. We encourage you to network with your fellow attendees on
Thursday and throughout the event on Friday. It is easy to chat with your fellow attendees with your
camera and microphone at the table or through the chat function in Remo. Simply search the
attendees in the chat function to chat one on one. Just a reminder, everyone at your table can see and
hear you even if their microphone and camera are off!

We know you all have missed the interaction that comes with meeting in-person. So, the Symposium
Committee redesigned this year’s event to be even more interactive and engaging. We ask that you
be camera ready when we break for discussions several times during the Symposium. To be at your
virtual best, make sure that you test your system before we go live test your system here

Tips for remo success
This will be your entrance:
 First thing to do is test your system:
test your system here to ensure compatibility
*Tablets and iPads are not supported at the moment.
After you verify compatibility, set up your
profile in Remo
Check out this video for some helpful tips
 When you click the link to the remo event you will
see a screen that says “Register now!”
 You will be asked to enter your email and then
click “Continue”
 Then you will enter your full name and a
password, check the box next to the Terms &
Conditions, then click “Register for event”
 Ensure you allow the browser access to your
camera and microphone to get the most out of
the Remo experience
 You should then see an icon at the top-right of
the main window (likely the first initial of your first
name). Click on that and select “My Profile”
 It’s helpful to add your photo, company name
and job title so that other users have the info on
hand. Think of it as your lanyard badge you would
typically wear at a tradeshow.

We will open the platform 30 minutes early
to give you time to explore at your leisure
Once you enter the platform you will be assigned a
table at random. Simply double click on any open seat
to move into a different table. Click the “mic off” and
“mic on” button to mute and unmute yourself.
If you log in and aren’t sure where to go or what to do,
check out the “Help Desk” where a DSMIG-USA staff
member will be on hand to help out. Look for the desk
in the bottom right corner of the floor.
Optimal Devices
 Works best on desktop or laptop computers
 Close all other video applications and other
browser windows
 When possible, connect to the internet using a
wired connection.
 Ensure your device has a microphone and
camera
 Works best on the most updated versions of
Safari, Chrome and Firefox
***Internet Explorer and Edge are not supported
Navigating Remo
 To enlarge video screen, click on the video
thumbnail
 You may join a table in the event by simply
double clicking on it. Likewise, you may leave a
table by double clicking on an alternate table to
join a new discussion.
 While at a table, you may find it beneficial to use
the Tile View function to enlarge the display of
participant videos. This is done by clicking on the
Tile View icon in the toolbar at the bottom of your
screen
 You can navigate between floors using the
elevator dial on the left side of your screen
 During Remo events you can chat with others:
GENERAL CHAT is visible to all attendees
TABLE CHAT is visible to only members in your
current table
PRIVATE CHAT is direct private message to
selected recipients

Elevator & Floors
You can navigate between floors using
the elevator dial. Regardless of what
floor you are on, you will remain in the
same session.
Tip: hover your cursor over a floor
number to see how many attendees
are on that floor.

be turned off.

of three options:
