1. NAME OF WORK
This specification describes about the Dismantling and Disposal of existing
ammonia storage tank & allied facilities.

3. SITE VISIT
The bidder is advised to visit, if necessary, and examine the site(s) of works and its
surroundings and obtain for himself on his own responsibility all information that
may be necessary for preparing the bid and entering into the contract. The cost of
visiting the site(s) shall be at bidder’s own expenses.

4. SCOPE OF WORK:
The scope of works under this enquiry shall include but not limited to:
Carry out demolition of existing Ammonia tank by dismantling of all machineries,
equipments, electrical & instrumentation item & piping item and civil & structural
item & allied piping.
Removal of all instrumentation items with related cabling, valves, junction boxes,
cables, cable trays with hardwares, canopy, PSV, existing TFM (Tank Farm
Management) accessories installed and existing Control room (excluding TFM
server) PLC based control system etc.
Piping to be removed up to the battery limit of the storage facilities or nearest
isolation valve as per the guidance of the Engineer in –charge. (Approx. up to 15-
20 M). Piping includes suction/discharge line, return lines, sprinkler lines and
other process connections
Removal of all the dismantled material outside the plant including debris
generated from breaking of concrete (with or without reinforcement) Refer
Annexure-10 Schedule of rates Part H and note 4.
The scope shall include arranging labor & consumables, machineries, tools,
tackles etc. complete and all other relevant works to be carried out safely as per
specifications enclosed with bid document.
Contractor shall not proceed with demolition work till the scheme and
methodology of demolition is reviewed and approved by Owner / Consultant.
Owner / Consultant will arrange Joint Safety Audit prior to start of the work and
contractor shall arrange to adhere to all the recommendations for safe working at
his risk and cost.
As the dismantling is to be carried out in existing storage are and running
fertilizer complex, all care shall be taken by the contractor to prevent damage to
existing facilities or disruptions of daily routine. All co-operations shall be given to
the Owner in this respect. Proper work permits shall be obtained before start of
any work.
Entire tank dismantling and removal of old foundation will be carried out by
contractor in such a way that all adjacent equipment, piping and foundation of
adjacent structure must not get damaged.
6. DISMANTLING PROCEDURE:
Entire work of demolishing and dismantling shall be carried out very carefully.
Prior to start of work, the Contractor shall prepare and submit the proposed
scheme of demolishing and dismantling to the Consultant / owner for their
approval. Jobs arising out of Joint Safety Audit shall be carried out by contractor
at his own Risk and Cost.
Entire area is to be barricaded before starting the work as per the instruction of
Engineer-in-charge.
7. NOTES TO CONTRACTOR
Contractors should thoroughly satisfy themselves about the nature, physical
condition, quantity and quality dimension, size, weight of the materials and
working conditions at the site as per procedures.
The dismantling of all items / equipments as per the list and removal and
disposal of scrap has been included as an essential part of the scope of work in

The scrap consisting of all old discarded equipment / machinery / items etc. as
per the details provided in the document elsewhere shall be dismantled,
removed, transported by the LSTK contractor from GNFC premises. Accordingly
price should be quoted for the same.
It is required for the bidder to ensure safe disposal of all items, comply with all
statutory requirements, environmental laws, and obtain all necessary clearance,
if any.
Disposal of insulation materials as per GPCB requirement at TSDF site for safe
disposal.
Water and steam for the job shall be provided by owner at the nearest possible
location the contractor has to make his own arrangement to take water/steam to
site/ work location.
In case of breakdown of any machinery viz. cranes, bulldozer, scrapper etc. the
contractor must replace the same within 24 hours maximum. Hence alternate
arrangement must be ready by the contractor so as to avoid such eventualities
affecting the job progress.
Time is the essence of contract & contractor must complete all jobs within the
time frame.
All broken concrete (with or without reinforcement) above ground level as per
scope of work covered in the tender will be taken out of the plant by vender at no
extra cost to owner without weighing.
All Types of cables shall be cut into 6 to 10 Mtrs length before taking out the
plant premises.
Only Plant Weighbridge will be used for weight measurement.
Isolation of Electrical/Instrument cables of radar gauge and other accessories
prior to dismantling.
All the taxes and duties etc. on the transportation and disposal of scrap &
dismantled facilities which are the property of the bidder shall be borne by the
bidder.
Transportation arrangement of all serviceable items upto the owner’s storage
yard shall be done by the bidder without any extra cost.
8. TIME PERIOD:
All the jobs including demolition of tank including dismantling and removal of
materials and debris outside plant premises are to be finished within 2 months
from the date of handover of tank.
9. HIRING OF CRANES
The responsibility of arranging the crane lies with contractor.
The details of hiring charges and general conditions for hiring shall be discussed
and finalized at the time of hiring.
