Analysis of Completed Assignments

● Many students did not hand in the assignment which skewed the results in the total and average
boxes above. Therefore, I created a new chart with just the students who completed it (attached
below).
● This chart shows that the students who completed the assignment understood the lesson. The
maximum points they could get in the characteristic and description section was a 3 and the class
average was a 2.75. Moreover, the maximum number of points students could receive is a 6 and
the class average was 5.5. I will use this information in planning my next steps.

Next Steps

● I would proceed from this lesson with an enrichment activity for the students who turned in the

assignment. The enrichment activity would allow the students to explore a dance from any of the

countries we investigated (United States, Brazil, and Russia). Students will share laptops to watch

the videos in class. Students will write a few sentences describing the dance and explaining the

significance of the dance to its country of origin.

○ For the United States, students will watch a video of people line dancing. For Brazil,

students will watch a video of people doing the samba. Lastly for Russia, students will

watch a video of people dancing the barynya.

● However, I would also privately address the eight people who did not hand in the assignment. If

they completed the assignment and forgot to hand it in to me I would grade it and assess if they

can proceed with the enrichment activity. If they did not hand in the assignment because they did

not understand it, I would work on a corrective activity with just them.
