This hotel is built on early December every year, and will be open to the public in the beginning of January. This hotel has a lifespan of four months every year, before being brought down in April, and the leftovers are left to melt away as the winter walks away. In its early development, the hotel offers 22 rooms to its visitors. However, now the hotel provides a total of 36 rooms to its visitors, with all beds made from ice. The only heated areas are the bathrooms and it is located in a separate insulated structure. It will take six weeks to complete building this hotel every year with the power of 30 skilled workers, who will work around the clock. The hotel makes its own snow using a special mixture to adjust the humidity. The hotel will first be built with metal frames and is allowed to harden for a few days before the cranes are removed. Overall, this hotel is made up of 15,000 tons of snow and 500,000 tons of ice. The thickness of its walls is up to four feet thick while its ceiling is up to 18 feet tall. Since this hotel is built every year, the interior designs of the hotel will tend to differ from one year to another, depending on the creativity of its sculptors.
