APPLICATION

1. Enumerate and discuss the characteristics of a successful childcare director.


There are four characteristics of a successful childcare director, the following are;
As director he/she has strong sense of responsibility, capable on handling various of
responsibility and being devoted, passionate to the job. Strong communication skills,
director must demonstrate strong verbal interpersonal skill when presenting or discussed
details to parents, staff and children because having strong communication skills is
convincible and people would agree on certain issues. Strong leadership and
management abilities, the basic skills include problem solving and decision making,
planning, meeting management, delegation, communication and managing yourself.
Those basic are also the foundation from which to develop more advanced practices in
management and leadership that should be develop as childcare director. Career
outlook, you shall be goal-oriented, including your mission on this field. A successful
childcare director not only has a prior knowledge and have more experience in serving
children but responsible to all the task and responsibilities do have as a childcare director
in the field.

2. Discuss the director’s duties and responsibilities as:

a. General Responsibilities
The common task of a childcare director is to hire and train new
staff. Supervise and provide training and professional development for
said staff. Establish policies and communicate them to staff and parent.
Develop educational programs and standard.

b. Enrollment
The role of board member directors to children is to initiate
program for the opening of the class. It’s their job accommodate children
in enrolling themselves in school.
c. Curriculum
In designing a curriculum director should be certified as
professional and expert because in the curriculum all of the information,
overview of the lessons is there, what could be done as directors to
observe the learning styles before designing a curriculum because if
without people or intelligent there is no curriculum as well.

d. Physical Plant and Equipment


In school the completeness of equipment is quite plus point
especially in teaching. Physical plant and equipment add more authenticity
in integrating technology in teaching. Director must look forward to the
issues like, lacking of school facilities, equipment and to organize solution
to the issues.

e. Finances
Directors are in charge in the budgeting, includes funding and give
financial assistance for the salary. It’s the director’s duty to manage
finances from expenses and other fees that help improve school facilities.

f. Staff /Human Resources


The role of a director is to hire and trains employer because
manpower plus effort, the result is the success of the program. He will
train people and provide practices, seminars and other training events.

g. Parent Involvement and Education


The involvement of parents is significant in supporting the learning
of a child. This could be a source of motivation for young learners,
especially if they’re around. So, as director it is important to raise issues
about parents who depart from children.

h. Health and Safety


As a childcare director he must ensures the safety for children,
teachers, and in the school premises. Provide friendly and comfortable
environment especially young learners are the target. On their stage, they
need more attention in learning. directors, are at stake to maintain a well
environment and are healthy and safe.

i. Community Relations
Partnership to community has a huge impact in learnings, if we see
community becomes the supportive, positive, uplifting child’s life. It helps
them to learn about themselves. This impact should be consistent over a
generation to generation
