Minutes for the meeting dated 08/08/23 for ADRA

1.0 Opening remarks


The meeting was opened with a prayer from a volunteer. The District
Developmental Co-odinator gave welcomes remarks and
introductions followed afterwards.

2.0 Project overview.


A brief overview of ERRIC 2 project was done being led by Fortunate.
She encapsulated that the source of funding for ADRA was USAID
and ADRA International Adventist Development Relief. The length of
ERRIC 2 project was 1 year which was 1 September 2022 to 31
August 2023.

The ERRIC 2 project targeted Mbire District [3000 people] and


Muzarabani [3000]

 The objective of the project was to recover from the primitive


environment and to prepare for droughts, floods or even diseases.
 The purpose of ERRIC 2 project was to
1. Make sure that farmers agricultural activities be in line with
climate change
2. All the stakeholders within communities to have adequate
knowledge on hygiene both at home and in the society.
3. to protect women and children from abuse, gender-based
violence among any other forms of violence that might have
arisen.

3.0 Project goals that were meant to be achieved

1. Agricultural production and livestock


2. Economic Recovery and Market Systems [SRMS]
3. Water and Sanitation services [WASH]
4. Protection- child protection, GBV prevention and response

The beneficiaries went on to discuss, deliberate and make


presentations, unwavering praises and accolades emerged to ADRA as
they managed to stick to their goals, vision and mandate as they
undertook their work in wards 4, 6, 8, 12 and 14.
4.0 Outcome
All the stakeholders who were present agreed that people benefited from
the following

 Maize seeds, bean seeds and goats among others


 People were taught to make traditional fertilizers
 People were taught on post-harvest management
 There was transparency and accountability from the Economic
Recovery and Market Systems
 The inclusiveness of the ERMS
 Other stakeholders within the ERMS were awarded with
certificates which boasted their zeal and goodwill.
 People benefited from child protection trainings
 Others benefited from WASH services including 10 boreholes
which were established in the above mentioned 5 Wards
 Community animal health workers were selected and managed to
be aided on how to manage their livestock.

5.0 Way forward

The issue of tool kits, as it has been suggested that tool kits should not
be kept or personalized by individuals in case anything happens in future
hence many people should be involved in as much the safekeeping of
tool kits is concerned therefore one of the stakeholders suggested that
‘tool kits’ should not be kept by one individual or beneficiary he or she
has to pass it on as a way forward.

Another stakeholder requested that ADRA helps them to monitor the


projects. And it was debated that instead of ADRA, beneficiaries can
monitor with the help of community health workers namely: Yona
Mugwagwa, Dadirai, Sarah Bayera and Cleopatra Bandira; ward 6
MacDonald Kapenge, Lindros Chibanga and Cosmas Amos from ward
12; ward 14 Ruvarashe Chaparadza, Ephraim Chiunye, Enet Mako and
Hones Chikunje; ward 4 Plaxcedes Nyandare, Claris Chena, Overage
Nyauswa, Pheras Zhaya and Trace Mbeve ;ward 8 Colen Mupunyura,
Farai Chihwata, Roselyn Mararike and Portia Muza.

General Remarks
ADRA appreciated for working together in Mbire. The same meeting was
going to be conducted from 29-30 August 2023 closing the ERRIC 2
project Enhancing Recovery Resilient In Communities. The project was
much in recovery project from what the communities have been lost.

Closing Remarks
DDC’ s representative thanked all the people that were in attendance.
He appreciated for the good work done by ADRA in the district. A
volunteer gave a closing prayer and that was the ending of the meeting.
