At Sonalika Tractors, we aim at creating a team of leaders ready to
take on any challenge that comes their way. It is this thought of
leadership that has helped our growth over the last 4 decades
of business.
We proudly say that we are not in the business of just making
tractors; we are in the business of bringing a smile to the people
around us. This includes our employees, women, youth, children and

Today the world is changing at a rapid pace. The so-called
‘established norms’ are being challenged. We are moving towards a
‘new normal’. It’s critical for us to match steps with changing times.
Technology is one thing that’s going to define life in the coming
times. Hence, it’s critical that we harness technology to its full
potential in all walks of life.
Post-Covid era, the progress of a nation will be judged by how
judiciously they make use of their resources – be it natural resources
or human resources. As we move forward, we need to look into the
core challenges of our society and work out solutions that put our
country on the path of growth.
Hope – That’s one lesson I have learnt from my grandmother.
When I was very young, I saw her being optimistic about
everything. She always said, “Jab tak aas hai, tab tak saans hai”,
which simply meant that we are alive till there is hope. These
words always used to fascinate me.
While growing up, I realized that hope is a mighty weapon to fight
against all odds. The beauty of ‘hope is that it simply refuses to
die’. Even when the entire world says, “Give up”, hope whispers
gently, “Try it one more time”. That’s the power of hope.
At Sonalika CSR, we want to be the torch-bearers of ‘hope’. When
we work with the farmers, women, children, and unemployed
youth, that’s the message we want to give. We want to tell each of
them not to give up, for tomorrow will be better.
But hope without action is merely wishful thinking. To make this
hope realistic, we work to bridge the gap and lead our fellow
countrymen towards the path of success. We want our farmers
to become tech-savvy and use the latest methods to enhance
their yield and earnings.
We work towards helping women of India become financially
independent and get their deserved place in society. We work to
ensure that all children get what they deserve - proper nutrition
and proper education to lead a good life. We work towards
channelizing the energy of youth into the right direction by
offering meaningful employment.
We have done quite a bit, and we know there’s a lot to be done.
The distances don’t scare us. Because we know, with hope on our
side and our strong resolve, we are not too far from our
destination.
While closing, I am reminded of the beautiful line of a song we
used to sing in our school, “We shall overcome someday, Oh,
deep in my heart, I do believe, we shall overcome someday.”

As we all know, schools are closed due to Covid. We firmly believe that
nothing, and we repeat, nothing should come in between a child and
his/her right to get education. Hence, under the “Udaan Classes”
program, we conduct online classes to supplement the educational
needs of children. For this initiative, we have partnered with like-minded
people who work with us so that the children do not miss their right to
education.
These online classes cover a wide range of topics from science to current
affairs, and from general knowledge to history. To ensure the overall
development of these children, we conduct activities that help them
learn, while they enjoy. We conduct various activities and competitions
that make these children sensitive towards various topics. The energy,
the enthusiasm, and the talents displayed by these children during these
competitions were moments of great joy and satisfaction for all of us.
Through Udaan classes, we have been successful to deliver quality

child. With an idea to uplift these children, we started a Remedial
Education Centre in the slums of Noor Nagar in Jamia Nagar, Delhi.
Encouraged by the positive response, we have expanded the scope
of remedial education, by opening a new centre at Tuglakabad, Delhi.
At both these centres, we promote education as well as work to
explore the hidden talents of children in various art forms like dance,
music, and singing. We are conducting classes and awareness
sessions as well in these centres on various topics and ensuring that
each child mustn’t miss out on their education.
For women of these slums, we offer vocational training like teaching
them stitching. The women at these centres have now picked up
orders from various organizations to stitch masks, which is a great
tool in our fight against Covid 19.
Our small efforts of promoting education in children and enhancing
the skills of women living in the slums have been appreciated by

Children are the future of our nation, and it is important to take
good care of our future. However, the unfortunate part is that
there are places where children miss even basic amenities like
food, safe water, healthcare and affection that they need while
growing up. This is a big area of concern, especially in rural areas.
To add to the existing facilities, Sonalika CSR has built an
Anganwadi in Malegaon, Baramati, Pune with an aim to provide
children with their birthrights. The Anganwadi is now tackling
cases right from primary birth related-issues to post-delivery
matters like childcare, nutrition, health check-up, immunization,
and even non-formal pre-education.
This Anganwadi was inaugurated by Honourable Deputy CM of
Maharashtra, Shri Ajit Pawar. Speaking on the occasion, he
highlighted the importance of these infrastructures in the
development of the nation.

Rajasthan
Started in September 2019 in 2 district of Rajasthan, now we have
successfully completed 2 years while doing multiple activities in
various villages of Sikar and Barmer.
The first Kisan Baithak in Sikar had an attendance of 700+ farmers;
while the attendance in Barmer was more than 400+. Officials from
Agriculture Department, Animal Husbandry department, KVKs,
NABARD, Horticulture Department imparted knowledge on improved
agricultural practices. The farmers learnt important tips and got an
immediate solution for their farming related queries.
The Kisan Clubs organise regular discussions and trainings on topics
related to agriculture. Farmers are encouraged to adopt better
agricultural practices like using organic fertilizers, pesticides and
preparing the land before sowing. The adoption of crop diversification
has improved farmer’s income.
We use digital technology to conduct interactive sessions between
farmers and agricultural experts. We have created WhatsApp groups of
farmers for sharing information about various government schemes
and policies, and resolving their queries.
To ensure a good crop, we provide quality seeds to farmers.
Encouraged by a better yield, they have created a Seed Bank. Now, the

farmers have become self-sufficient and don’t have to depend
on seeds from open markets.
In parts of western Rajasthan facing water scarcity, people
store water in a traditional structure called ‘Tanka’. This
reduces water loss through evaporation. We constructed a
public tanka in the Government School of Bawri Kalan, Barmer
and attached it to the Rainwater Harvesting System. This
tanka fulfills the water requirement of school round the year.
One more tanka was constructed in Government Hospital of
Sindhasawa Hariniyan, Barmer, for taking care of the water
needs of patients and the people living in nearby localities. In
Palsana village of Sikar, we have created two water storage
infrastructure – one for meeting the daily needs of the
villagers and the other for providing water to animals.
We are not stopping here. Our journey continues. We will
educate and set up WADI for the farmers to ensure optimal
utilization of their land. In addition, we plan to distribute good
quality seeds and promote organic farming. For promoting
rainwater harvesting, we plan to construct more tankas. To

experts, both online and on-field.

Uttar Pradesh is known for its good agricultural practices and a
majority of its population depends upon agriculture. The need is to
keep the farmers updated about the latest developments in
agriculture and encourage them to try new things in agriculture.
Encouraged by the response that we received in MP and Rajasthan,
we planned to extend our project in Uttar Pradesh as well.
The program started this year. We are working in several villages
across the 5 districts of UP, namely Farrukhabad, Kannauj,
Mainpuri, Firozabad and Aligarh.
In Uttar Pradesh, we plan to take this project a step ahead of MP and
Rajasthan. We have already created a Kisan Club in each village of
these 5 districts. Now, we plan to invite agricultural experts to
impart training for vermin and aerobic compost. We plan to
promote organic farming and drip irrigation in the fields. We plan to
support farmers in various ways like doing their soil testing,
distributing quality seeds, and developing farm ponds. To make our
farmers self-dependent, we plan to create seed banks for our
members. We also plan to encourage farmers to adopt
Agroforestry. This will help the farmers grow trees on the boundary

of their fields and also add to the moisture and fertility of the soil.
This will help them utilize their land optimally and will also create
additional source of income.
One of our initiatives is to develop Custom Hiring Centre. These
women-centric centres will promote new agricultural machinery.
These centres will empower them and make them financially
independent, bringing more women into the mainstream activity of
agriculture.
We are hoping for greater results through this project in UP.

nation is a self-reliant and an empowered nation.
Due to Covid, children have been locked indoors for more than a year now. In this
era, teaching happening through online mode only. It is important to develop
the cognitive skills of the children.
With an aim to broaden the scope of education, we create a special YouTube
channel, dedicated to children, called, ‘Sonalika e-Gurukul’, the channel aims at
imparting education to the children on various topics ranging from mythology
to science, and moral values to current affairs.
Providing Equipment For The Eye Department
At Sonalika CSR, we believe that a healthy nation is a progressive
nation. For every country, health is always an area of top priority.
Eyes, being a sensitive part of our body, need special care.
Sonalika CSR has extended its support to the eye department of St.
Stephen’s Hospital, Delhi by providing equipment to them. This
equipment will go a long way in the diagnosis and treatment of eye-
related problems so that everyone can continue seeing this
beautiful world.
This Applanation Tonometer tests the fluid pressure in the eye,
which will help in the treatment of the eye. This equipment is
considered to be the gold standard when it comes to the
measurement of intraocular pressure. With this equipment, the
Ophthalmology department of St. Stephen’s Hospital has become
more capable of dealing with eye related cases.

To ensure the holistic development of the children, we have various kinds of

activities for the children. The channel has interesting DIY (Do-It-Yourself)
videos, news on current affairs, (hosted by children only), interesting facts and
places to visit across India with Wadiya Singh among other things.
We have started this channel with Hindi and soon we will be sharing learning
videos in various languages. Through these videos, we are aiming to educate

Despite 71% of the surface of Earth being covered with
water, out of which very less is drinkable, we face a water
crisis in many parts of the world, including India. Hence, it is
very important to conserve every drop of water. Rainwater is
a very good source of potable water, but due to the lack of
proper system, we end up wasting this precious source. This
is one area that needs serious attention.
In a year with the normal monsoon, Delhi gets a good
amount of rainfall. The unfortunate part is that we have
ignored this gift from nature, and allowed it to literally ‘go
down the drains’. This is the reason; water crisis has
become a very serious issue for the residents of Delhi. But,
there is a very simple solution to this problem – rainwater
harvesting.
Sonalika CSR, in collaboration with District Administration,
the New Delhi District, Government of NCT, Delhi decided to
construct a rainwater harvesting structure at Vasant Kunj
area. This sub-surface water reservoir structure will help
the residents of the society in water conservation. The

challenge, we have adopted 50+ villages in the Karnal district of
Haryana. To educate and create awareness among the farmers, we
organise workshops, seminars and training sessions. We tell the
farmers about the harmful effects of stubble burning and eco-friendly
ways to use the residue. We aim to convert this initiative into a
movement, where maximum people get benefitted. Many farmers have
already taken a pledge to not burn the stubble.
In addition to this, we have supported farmers by providing the latest
machines like Happy Seeder, Spatial Zero Till Seed cum Fertilizer Drill,
and Super Straw Management System. These machines have helped the
farmers to utilize the stubble in a better way and contribute in preserving
air quality by stopping the age-old practice of stubble burning.
After adopting Crop Residue Management, farmers have reported a
significant reduction in the use of fertilizers and water.

many hidden gems in our country. There are several young girls in our rural areas

We at Sonalika CSR are playing a small part in this initiative. We have been
supporting two young sports talents of India - Juana Murmu and Debashree. These
young talents come from very humble backgrounds. With no proper resources, these
talents would have gone to waste. However, Sonalika CSR has taken complete
responsibility for nutrition and training for both these budding athletes. We are quite
hopeful that with our support and their dedication, they will fulfil the ultimate desire
of every Indian – Olympic gold in athletics.

Sport is an integral part of life and education. It not only keeps our
body fit but also provide pleasure. And sport like football teach us a
lot of human values, which go a long way in building our character.
Football teaches us the importance of teamwork, patience, the
need for regular training and the need to build stamina to keep
moving.
We realise the need for the physical and mental well-being of
children. And hence, we are supporting a football academy called
‘My Angels Academy’. In this football academy located in
Vikaspuri, New Delhi, we are supporting many children. These
children have the required skills, talent, and willpower. With our
support, these children have blossomed into young footballers.
They are provided with various online sessions. These players are
playing for many football clubs and winning matches for the clubs
and accolades for themselves. Our aim is not only to support them
to become better sports person but also good citizens.

Range
Focus, discipline, and continuous training are the three key
requirements of any sport. And which other sport exemplifies it better
than shooting. In a country like India, where children start playing with
‘gulel’, aiming at the fruits hanging on the tree, it is very disheartening
to know that we have very few Olympic medals to our name.
As a country, we want to see many more medals coming our way in the
game of Shooting. And with this desire, we have set up shooting ranges
in various schools, such as Suraj Bhan DAV- Vasant Vihar, DAV-
Faridabad, and Government School, Chabbewal, Hoshiarpur.
Providing proper infrastructure and guidance to the students in these
schools has already started showing results. The students from Suraj
Bhan DAV took part in the ‘National Shooting Championship’ held at
Trivandrum, Kerala. At the competition, they impressed everyone with
their talent. The students from Government School, Chabbewal have
also participated and won in different state and district level shooting
competitions.
Training is a key component of shooting. But that’s not possible in
these Covid affected times. Not ready to get bogged down with
