a level 4 trauma designation. Clearwater Valley Hospital and Clinics serves a community of
approximately 3,000 people and a county of over 8,500 people. This hospital was previously
part of the Essentia Health organization based in Minnesota. In April of 2020, Kootenai
Health Organization of North Idaho acquired Clearwater Valley Hospital and Clinics
(Purchase of, 2020). The intention of this partnership is to strengthen health care in North-
Central Idaho. Kootenai Health has been a transfer hospital for Clearwater Valley for several
years. Kootenai Health has also provided cardiopulmonary services to Clearwater Valley
