Landslides are one of the natural disasters that generally occur in mountainous or hilly areas,
especially during the rainy season, which can result in loss of property or loss of life. Landslide events
are known as mass movements of soil, rock or a combination thereof which often occur on natural or
artificial slopes. Landslides occur due to natural processes in changes in the structure of the earth's
surface, namely a disturbance in the stability of the soil or rocks that make up the slope. Although
landslides are a natural physical phenomenon, they can also be the result of uncontrolled human
activities exploiting nature factors that cause slope instability that can result in landslides. Besides that,
there can be changes in inappropriate land use resulting in a greater risk of landslides. These human
activity factors include planting patterns, slope cutting/cliff excavation, pond formation, drainage,
building construction and population density. Therefore, sustainable development efforts must be
looked at environmental balance and required guidelines for spatial planning of landslide-prone areas.
In connection with information about the consequences and mitigation of landslides, the government
always urges the public to always be alert to natural disasters, be they landslides, floods, volcanic
eruptions and earthquakes. Landslides are disasters that endanger people's lives. One effort to reduce
and prevent landslides is by knowing the distribution of landslide-prone areas in an area. Each land has a
different level of landslide vulnerability. This is influenced by several factors that influence landslides.
Several factors influence landslides, namely, soil, rocks, slopes, rainfall, land use, vegetation, remnants
of past processes people activity.
Based on the background of the problem above, the indetification of the issues raised in this
paper are:
