Oh, the Places You’ll Go!

Dr. Seuss

N1- Congratulations! Today is your day. You’re off to Great Places!

You’re off and away!

N2- You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes.

N3- You can steer yourself any direction you choose.

N4- You’re on your own. And you know what you know. Ans you are
the guy who’ll decide where to go.

N5- You’ll look up and down streets. Look ‘em over with care.

N6- About some you will say, “I don’t choose to go there.”.

N7- With your head full of brains and your shoes full of feet, you’re
too smart to go down any not-so-good street.

N8- And you may not find any you’ll want to go down. In that case,
of course, you’ll head straight out of town.

N9- It’s opener there in the wide-open air.

N10- Out there things can happen and frequently do to people as

brainy and footsy as you.

N1- And then things start to happen don’t worry. Don’t stew. Just go
along. You’ll start happening too.

ALL- Oh! The Places you’ll go!

N2- You’ll be on your way up!

N3- You’ll be seeing great sights!

N4- You’ll join the highfliers who soar to high heights.

N5- You won’t lag behind, because you’ll have the speed.

N6- You’ll pass the whole gang, and you’ll soon take the lead.

N7-Whenever you fly, you’ll be best of the best. Wherever you go,
you will top all the rest.

N8-Except when you don’t. Because, sometimes, you won’t.

N9- I’m sorry to say so but, sadly, it’s true that bang-ups and hang-ups
can happen to you.

N10- you can get all hung up in a prickle-ly perch. And your gang
will fly on. You’ll be left in a Lurch.

N1- You’ll come down from the Lurch with an unpleasant bump. And
the chances are, then, that you’ll be in a Slump.

N2- And when you’re in a Slump, you’re not in for much fun. Un-
slumping yourself is not easily done.

N3- You will come to a place where the streets are not marked. Some
windows are lighted. But mostly they’re darked. A place you could
sprain both your elbow and chin!

N4- Do you dare to stay out? Do you dare to go in? How much can
you lose? How much can you win?

N5- And if you go in, should you turn left or right. Or right-and-three-
quarters? Or, maybe, not quite? Or go around back and sneak in from
behind? Simple it’s not, I’m afraid you will find, for a mind-maker-
upper to make his mind.

N6- You can get confused that you’ll start in to race down long
wiggled roads at a break-necking pace and grind on for miles cross
weirdish wild space, headed, I fear, toward a most useless place.
N7- The Waiting Place

N8- For people just waiting.

N9- Waiting for a train to go.

N10- or a bus to come.

N1- or a plane to go.

N2- or mail to come.

N3-or the rain to go.

N4- or the phone to ring

N5- or the snow to snow

N6- or the waiting around for a Yes or No

N7- or waiting for their hair to grow.

N8- Everyone is just waiting.

N9- Waiting for the fish to bite.

N10- or waiting for the wind to fly a kite.

N1- or waiting around for Friday night.

N2- or waiting, perhaps for their Uncle Jack.

N3- or a pot to boil

N4- or s Better Break

N5- or a string of pearls

N6-or a pair of pants

N7-or a wig with curls

N8- or Another chance

N9- Everyone is just waiting…
