Objectives:

• Design an enclosure for a high-fidelity audiophile amplifier with concentration on aesthetics.

• Establish a unique look which can be propagated through multiple products.
• Create a cost-effective design (material cost and fabrication method)
• Understand thermal dissipation and heatsink design. Heat generation in Watts will be provided. Simulation is
not required.
• Produce design files ready for low volume production
• Deliver 2D and 3D files

Project description:
1) Mechanical 3D and 2D CAD drawings/files for the HiFi amplifier
a. Front plate only option
i. Aesthetic front shape design of brushed aluminum front plate
(suggest several styles). See page 4 for ideas, but do not copy. I am looking to establish a unique
look.
ii. Placement and mounting of the small LCD panel (2D drawing of LCD will be provided)
iii. Design power button shape and style. It will be a capacitive touch type button, no mechanical
movement, but it needs opening in the front plate.
iv. Design of the LED light pipes for power button illumination. Shape to be discussed (LEDs will be
mounted on the PCB parallel and behind the front plate)
v. Design of the LED light pipe in a shape of logo designed in item 2 below. (LEDs will be mounted
on the PCB parallel to the front plate)
vi. Definition of material finish (aluminum, brushed, anodized, clear coat, etc)
b. Entire enclosure option
i. All items in 1a above.
ii. Based on the existing design (see page 3) which will be suggested (only dims and pictures will be
provided, no 2D or 3D files). Unique design is also an option if more cost competitive.
iii. Placement of 3 PCBs (all dims and mounting holes for 3pcbs will be provided)
iv. Placement of connectors on rear plate (all connector part numbers and specs will be provided)
v. Style, location and mounting of housing feet
vi. Add keyword audio123 to at the beginning of your proposal.
2) Logo design - optional
a. Will include word “Audio” (the exact logo text will be provided once project is approved)
b. Should appear like someone wrote it with one continuous stroke, but the letters should be easily
recognizable
c. One color so it can easily be designed into front plate or appear in black/white documentation
d. Hybrid between modern and cursive style (good balance between straight lines and curves)
e. Under the logo text I would like a pattern of horizontally elongated ovals or hexagons which could be
just a graphics or could be holes illuminated via a light pipes and LEDs from behind the front plate.
