1. How does a parallel circuit compare to a series circuit in terms of the paths through
which the current can flow in the circuit?

In a parallel circuit, current can flow through multiple paths simultaneously, whereas in a
series circuit, current flows through only one path.

2. What is the same in each branch of a parallel circuit?

In each branch of a parallel circuit, the voltage across the branches is the same.

3. How do you find the total current flowing through the circuit from the current in each
branch?

To find the total current flowing through a parallel circuit, you sum up the currents in each
branch.

4. If a branch of a parallel circuit has more resistance than the other branches, how does
the amount of current flowing through that branch compare to the other branches?

If a branch of a parallel circuit has more resistance than the other branches, less current
flows through that branch compared to the others.

5. How do the brightnesses of identical light bulbs that are wired in parallel compare to one
another? How would they change if more bulbs are added to the circuit?

In a parallel circuit, identical light bulbs have the same brightness, and adding more bulbs
in parallel increases the overall brightness without affecting individual bulb brightness.

6. Write the equation for finding the equivalent resistance of multiple resistors in parallel:

I/Req = I/R1 = I/R2 = I/R3

7. How does the total resistance in a parallel circuit compare to the values of the individual
resistors?

The total resistance in a parallel circuit is less than the value of the individual resistors.

8. Why are houses wired in parallel instead of in series?

Houses are wired in parallel to ensure that if one electrical device fails or needs
maintenance, it does not disrupt the entire circuit, maintaining functionality in other parts
of the house.

9. When circuits have some components that are wired in series, and some that are wired
in parallel, they are called ___ circuits.

When circuits have some components wired in series and others in parallel, they are
called mixed circuits.

10. What is the same in each resistor that are wired in series to one another?

In resistors wired in series, the same current flows through each resistor.

11. What is the same in each branch that are wired parallel to one another?

In branches wired in parallel, the voltage across each branch is the same.
