Boeing AUDIT

"A six-week evaluation conducted by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regarding

Boeing's production of the 737 Max aircraft revealed numerous issues within the manufacturing

process at both Boeing and one of its primary suppliers, Spirit AeroSystems, as detailed in a

presentation examined by The New York Times.

This assessment was prompted by an incident where a door panel detached from a 737 Max 9

during an Alaska Airlines flight in early January. Following this event, the FAA launched an audit

which identified "multiple instances" of non-compliance with quality-control standards by both

Boeing and Spirit AeroSystems, although specific details were not disclosed by the agency.

The presentation, although technical in nature, offers a comprehensive overview of the audit's

findings. In the wake of the Alaska Airlines incident, Boeing has faced heightened scrutiny

regarding its quality-control procedures, and the revelations from the audit contribute further

evidence of manufacturing deficiencies within the company.

In the section of the evaluation pertaining to Boeing, the FAA conducted 89 product audits,

which scrutinize various aspects of the production process. Of these audits, Boeing passed 56

and failed 33, resulting in a total of 97 instances of alleged non-compliance, according to the

presentation."
