readiness of DMMMSU retiring personnel to embrace another journey in their life. The

proposed program was anchored on the following: a) readiness along phycho social, medical,

spiritual and financial; b) respondents’ concept of retirement; c) respondents’ plans upon

retirement; and d) perceived problems upon retirement.

The responses were tabulated and analyzed, identified the gaps and from there, the

proposed pre-retirement program was crafted. The said program was presented in a Focus

Management Officers, University Faculty Association President and University Non

Teaching Personnel President, retired DMMMSU personnel represented by 1 Faculty and 1

concern for their retirement life. Specifically, it hoped to:

accepted as part of the Human Resource Management of DMMSU that will be

funded/subsidized and supported by the university administration, the faculty and non-

teaching associations.

2. Promote quality and healthy well-being to all personnel through understanding the

midlife career transition experience from a working professional to an engaging retiree.

3. Provide a venue that will accommodate would-be retirees of DMMMSU and those who

are planning to retire in an opportunity to examine across experiences that will impact

the quality of life in retirement.

4. Redefined the traditional notion of retirement as a total withdrawal from the working life

to a retirement that is productive and life fulfilling.
