The Journey North is a website that allows all individuals to observe information

regarding the wildlife in North America. The website tracks migration of animals and seasonal
change to promote environmental awareness and land ethic. Some of the key animals and plants
include Hummingbirds, Monarch Butterflies, American Robins, Red-Winged Blackbird, Orioles,
Barn Swallow, Common Loons, Ice-Out, Bald Eagle, Tulip Test Gardens, Symbolic Migration,
Weather and Songbird Migration, Signs of the Seasons, Habitat & Pollinator Patches. Once you
click on an animal or plant, there will be specific reports regarding that species. There is an
option to click on a map version of where it would be located at. This is a great resource to allow
students to explore for the standard regarding the five regions of Georgia. Information about the
species, where the species are located within the state, and the region. People across the world
are able to enter observation notes of a sighting and upload the pictures they captured. This tool
can be used to observe where these species are located and how often they are seen.

The Citizen Science website offers a toolkit that shows the five basic process steps for
citizen science project. The website offers ways to plan, design, and carry out the project. You
can browse through case studies that give example of models and provides examples of
successful stories and difficult challenges to compare. Some ideas of citizen science and
crowdsourcing can include web-based projects, community-based projects, field-based projects,
and serious games. This resource would allow students to examine and explore different products
or services that can be created to solve a problem or help a situation.

The Zooniverse website is another resource that offers a way for individuals to volunteer
to better the community. This website ensures that volunteers will help test projects before they
launch to make sure everything is properly working. This website allows anyone to be a
researcher. The discoveries can potential be endless. This type of system allows for a more
intense conversation and in -depth participation.

The GLOBE website promotes a program that includes Global Learning and
Observations to Benefit the Environment. This program is an international science and
educational program that focuses on scientific literacy and building connections within people
who are passionate about the environment and want to improve it. This program offers an
exciting and creative way for teachers to incorporate science, technology, engineering, and
mathematics within the classroom. STEM is becoming more and more popular in schools, and
this is a great tool to enforce the habits of this type of learning. GLOBE gives all teachers and
students the opportunity to teach in certain ways, which include modules, learning activities, and
a variety of other resources that support student learning. This resource is a great tool for
students to use to explore the required content for science curriculum.
