Palembang

LAKSO
Notwithstanding the similarity in
pronunciation to laksa, this is a different
cuisine. Lakso is one of several examples of
Malay and Chinese cultural culinary
acculturation in Palembang.

Lakso is a broad white noodle made of rice


flour that may be cut into squares or circles.
It comes with a rich coconut milk sauce and a
yellowish fish broth from the turmeric. PEMPEK
Pempek is typical of fish cake made of fish
meat, tapioca powder, and spices, and it is
served with a sweet and sour sauce called
Cuko.
The most popular one is Pempek Kapal Selam.
Kapal selam in Bahasa means Submarine,
KUE BASAH which resembles the shape of the dish.
