1.4.1 State the process for defining the Vision and Mission of the Department
The process of defining Vision and mission is carried out in two stages: viz. Consultative process, De-
liberative process. During the Consultative Process of Department Advisory Board meeting, the Department
Head consults with various stakeholders including the Industry experts, faculty, alumni, academic peer mem-

bers, employers about the new vision and mission. Hence, the requirements of the local community, industry fo-
cus, faculty expertise, alumni interests, administrative and sponsoring supports are augmented and analyzed.
With the analyzed report, the Department proposes the drafted statement of Vision and Mission. The
drafted document will be subjected to the Deliberative Process by the members from the IQAC (Internal Qual-
ity Assessment Cell) and Governing Council. The deliberated Vision and Mission are then released for follow
up.
i. Collecting and Drafting: Views are collected from Internal and External Stakeholders of the Department like
Faculty, Students, Alumni, Industry Experts, and Employers during DAB meeting and Vision, Mission are draf-
ted.
ii. Formulation: Drafted statement of Vision and Mission of the Department are formulated by IQAC to check
the consistency and forwarded to Governing Council.
iii. Review and approval: The formulated Vision and Mission statements of the Department are reviewed by
Governing Council for fine-tuning and approval.
iv. Dissemination: Once the Vision and Mission of the Department are approved, they are published and dis-
seminated.

B. Description of process involved in defining the PEOs of the program


The Programme Educational Objectives are established through a consultative process involving the
core constituents namely, University Curriculum, Employer, Student, Alumni, Faculty and deliberative Pro-
cess.
i. collecting: In Department Advisory Board Meeting, Views are collected from Internal and External stake -
holders of the department like faculty, students, alumni, industry experts, and employers.
ii. Drafting: The vision and mission of the Department, University curriculum,
Graduates attributes are considered to draft PEO’s and then forwarded to IQAC.
iii. Formulation: Drafted statement of PEOs of the Department are formulated by IQAC to check the consist-
ency and forwarded to Governing Council.

iv. Review and approval: The formulated Vision and Mission statements of the Department are reviewed by
Governing Council for fine-tuning and approval.
