Adam Smith was born in 1723 in Scotland,

his father Adam Smith who was
Comptroller of Customs and his mother
Margaret Douglas.

In 1737, when he was 14 years old, he

entered the University of Glasgow.

He graduated in 1740 where he won an

important scholarship

In 1744 they dedicated themselves to a

program of self-education in both
classical and modern literature and
philosophy.
In 1759 he published his
first book which is titled
