What alternate options are you interested in other than traditional dental hygiene

practice?

1. Community Dental Hygienist - The concept of allowing dental hygienists to take oral

health education and services right into low income areas really appeals to me. One can take this

up within many environments including but not limited to; schools, industries, nursing homes or

even just community facilities.

2. Public Health Dental Hygienist – It entails teaching people on good oral hygiene

practices and offering prevention solutions at local levels such as schools, health fairs, and

government clinics.

3. Dental Hygienist Telehealth - Through this option, dental hygienists can virtually

consult and evaluate patients who are not capable of attending a dental clinic. (American

4. Dental Hygienist Employed In Corporations Or Institutions - This alternative entails

working with business enterprises or groups towards helping out in taking care of the dental

hygiene of their workers or members. (American Dental Hygienists Association (ADHA))
