Course Plan — Basic (A1|A2)

Course Objectives

❖ Understand and use a wider range of everyday expressions and phrases.

❖ Engage in simple conversations on familiar topics.

❖ Ask and answer questions about personal experiences, preferences, and opinions.

❖ Comprehend the main points in short texts and simple audio recordings.

❖ Write connected sentences and short paragraphs on familiar topics.

❖ Demonstrate increased confidence in their English

Course Overview
This ESL (English as a second language) course is designed for students in Mexico with basic
knowledge of the English language. The course aims to develop students' language proficiency
in listening, speaking, reading and writing. Students will expand their vocabulary, improve their
grammar and pronunciation & gain confidence using English in everyday communication.
Course Outline

Module 1: Social Interactions

❖ Making introductions and small talk


❖ Inviting, accepting and declining invitations
❖ Expressing gratitude and apologizing
❖ Making suggestions and offering help

Module 2: Leisure Time & Hobbies

❖ Discussing hobbies and interests


❖ Describing weekend and holiday activities
❖ Making and responding to recommendations
❖ Present simple vs. Present continuous tense

Module 3: Travel & Tourism


❖ Travel related vocabulary and phrases
❖ Booking accommodation and transportation
❖ Asking for and giving tourist information
❖ Describing past experiences (simple past tense)

Module 4: Work & Study

❖ Jobs and occupation vocabulary


❖ Describing ones one’s job, studies and responsibilities
❖ Discussing daily routines and schedules
❖ Talking about future plans and intentions (future tense with will and going to)

Module 5: Health & Wellbeing

❖ Health related vocabulary and expressions
