Darryn Melrose
General Manager,
Design and Creative Technology
Darryn has a long history with Torrens
University and has previously served as
Chief Executive of Media Design School
(MDS), our sister institution in New
Zealand. Darryn’s strong background in
tertiary education has afforded him a
variety of leadership roles, including CEO
of Auckland’s Whitecliffe College of Arts
and Design, and Board Director for Santa
Fe University of Art and Design in the US.
Outside of education, Darryn’s experience
spans financial services, FMCG, retail,
marketing, telecommunications and digital
sectors. In 2009, he founded the Digital
Leadership Group, elevating AIM
Proximity to one of the top direct/digital
marketing agencies in the world. He was
also the creator and leader of GlobalPlus,
the triple-alliance of Air New Zealand,
Bank of New Zealand and Telecom.

Scott Thompson-Whiteside
Executive Dean,
Design and Creative Technology
Scott has more than 20 years of academic
experience, leading various programs,
schools and faculties across Europe, Asia
and Australia. Trained as an industrial
designer, he moved into design
management and later acquired a PhD
from the Centre for Studies in Higher
Education at University of Melbourne.
Scott is a strong advocate for
internationalisation, industry-engaged
teaching, high-quality student outcomes
and interdisciplinary research. His own
research interests intersect the disciplines
of design education, higher education
policy, design strategy and innovation.
Robyn Latimer
Associate Dean,
Design and Creative Technology
In her 25-year design career, Robyn
has owned a studio, directed a company
and led countless community projects.
Having worked in magazines and
advertising, she specialised in publishing
before progressing to education, which
was a natural fit. She advocates for equity
of access to lifelong learning and online
education. In 2010, Robyn received a NSW
Volunteer of the Year Award and in 2018,
an Order of Australia Medal.

When it comes to paying for your tuition fees, you have two options:
FEE-HELP Up-front payment
All of our courses are covered by FEE-HELP. If you’re a domestic FEE-HELP isn’t your only option when it comes
