New book, collection of darshans “Upanishads of Immortality, conversations

with Yogiraj” , authored by the Fifth Guru of Kriya Yoga Sri Shailendra Sharma is
scheduled for publishing in 2020

Foreword
Lead me from unreality to reality.
Lead me from darkness to light.
Lead me from death to immortality...
Yajurveda

Called the Upanishads of Immortality, this book talks about the goals of yoga and the highest
aim of human life, about the difficult path to self-knowledge and methods of achieving
immortality.
The word Upaniṣhad in Sanskrit refers to the student who is "sitting down near" the Guru while
absorbing spiritual knowledge.

Neither a technical instruction, nor an alchemical manual, the book provides modem seekers
with a unique opportunity to learn about preservation of the developed individuality in the astral
world after death, to understand the specifics of mind development in the practices of Kriya
Yoga and to grasp the essence of ancient yoga texts as they explained by the contemporary
realized practitioner. According to the author himself, sometimes a hint of information is enough
for these, who are already on the Path…

Compiled as dialogues between a Guru and the students, conducted in the course of traditional
darshans, this book is written for these practitioners of higher yoga, who dare to travel far and to
touch the distant horizon of a true self-exploration.

The fifth Guru in the line of Kriya Yoga of Mahavatar Babaji and an accomplished
Yogi, Shailendra Sharma gives extraordinary and sometimes unexpected explanations of ancient
yogic texts, answering questions from disciples and visitors.

The very structure of the book unfolds the macrocosm of existence in front of the reader. Having
defined Time, Void and the Eternal Sound of vibration generating five basic elements of Matter,
the author leads the readers to understand the causes of the appearance of the individual body
and the reasons for the presence of Spirit in it.

One of the most intriguing chapters unfolds unexplored parallels between 18 alchemical stages
of “taming” the mercury and 18 Chapters of Bhagavad Gita. Yogic comments on the ancient
texts: Khechari Vidya, Yoga Kundalini Upanishad, Gheranda Samhita, Gyana Shankalini Tantra,
Isha Upanishad and other are given in light of Kriya Yoga tradition.

All these fascinating topics are framing the core of the main goal of Kriya Yoga - to realize our
own inner immortal substance, to develop our consciousness and understand the relationship
between the mind, the body and self realization.

The way of Siddhas

The meaning of human existence is life in the name of Life itself.
The very fact of our presence in the physical body is the basis for all other multileveled tasks,
projected by our consciousness.

Persistent aim for self-knowledge and self-realization during one human life is the true goal of
yoga. But what is next, after you realized yourself?

Yogis believe that next you will realize the Creator and His creation… An admirable and
ambitious goal, but what does immortality have to do with it?
The possibility of an endless stay of the developed consciousness in an immortal body was
confirmed by the Indian Siddhas, who set themselves to the task of achieving Self-realization
during one lifetime.

They sought to prolong the life of the body until the Spirit completes its evolution and realizes its
potential, reaching the Absolute consciousness, the consciousness of the Creator.

The ascetics attained immortality in the earthly bodies, thereby testifying to the eternal life of the
Awakened Consciousness.

Such Siddhas had the choice of leaving the body or to stay indefinitely in the physical form
which already had nurtured the Super consciousness.

How to face an Eternity

But how can one approach such an ambitious task today, when our well-educated society is quite
skeptical about the probability of the eternal existence?

The capacious and simple concept of the goal of yoga is to recognize one's own spirit and to
establish friendly and trusting relationships with it, so one’s identity will be preserved in the
“afterlife”, upon the transference of the consciousness into the “air body”, or…
…or your befriended Spirit will not seek to leave the house of body, becoming its permanent
inhabitant. Samadhi is the highest level of yogic achievement, but it is only one of the steps on
the long path of knowing one's own Spirit, as the author suggests.

Using powerful techniques of Kriya Yoga, an aspirant can arrive at the doors of Death and
choose to stay alive, facing eternity while experiencing the power of consciousness of the Time
and the Void, merged with his own mind.

Such is the concept of the teachings of the ancient Siddhas, as set forth by the
author in vivid images and clear concepts, accessible to modern readers.

The Alchemy of Yoga, the Yoga of Alchemy

“Haṭhayogapradīpikā4.96:
baddhaṃ vimuktacāñcalyaṃ nādagandhakajāraṇāt |
manaḥpāradam āpnoti nirālambākhyakhe'ṭanam |

The Mercury that is the mind, solidified, devoid of unsteadiness,

wanders in the space called “without support” because of having been
oxidized by the Sulphur that is the sound [Oṃ].

Introduction
An essence of the timeless art, Yoga liberates and expands consciousness - this happens
when obstructions (kleshas in yoga and dross in alchemy) are removed.
Both yoga and alchemy are road maps for the elimination of obstructions, veiling the
Reality, both can be compared to a bridge which leads from a limited to a deepened
consciousness.

Firmly rooted in the phenomenal world, these sciences at the same time extend into the
transcendental realm.
Alchemical creation of gold is similar to the yogic sadhana; they both aim at elevating
the sleeping mundane mind to the higher states of consciousness.
Alchemy transforms 'base' substances to 'noble' ones; yoga purifies psycho-physical
tools, and is used for the evolution of mind.
One of the most important treatises on alchemy, Rasamava, speaks of liberation
(jīvanmukti) obtained by means of Mercury, with the Mercury as Śiva's semen.

Alchemy cultivates rasa - Mercury, yoga perfects the art of pranayama - vāyu, and both
ways are described as parallel methods.
It is said that those who pursue the art of alchemy should also be experienced in Haṭha
yoga; and many yogic texts refer to Alchemy as a metaphor for the practice.

Symbolism

Symbols of alchemy and yoga bear striking resemblances. Kundalini, the primordial
serpent, finds its alchemical equivalent in Ouroboros, a dragon-headed snake.

Common symbolism could be traced further: the heart chakra and the alchemical opus are
both depicted as two interlaced triangles; the twisted snakes on the physicians’ caduceus
and the nadis of ida-pingala are similarly coiled around sushumna; the lotuses of the
chakras echo the seven-petalled roses of alchemy…

Matter was always considered an 'alive' and potent force by the alchemists; Shakti, the
omnipresent energy, is a key factor in the awakening to the Life of Supreme
Consciousness.

Fire furnaces burn in alchemical laboratories for weeks and this process is comparable to
panchagnitapag: yogic rites of sitting between five fires.
Equally important in both alchemy and yoga, fire is a purifying medium.

Gyan, or spiritual realization, is often compared with fire, which burns down all the
impurities of karmic pollution. In yoga, the heat of pranayama is not only of a physical
nature, but is psychological, or, of a 'mystical nature' as well.

Manu's words sum it up perfectly: "As baser things mixed with gold and other metals are
removed by burning those metals, so the propensities of the senses are removed by
pranayama."

Siddhas and Alchemy

Nath Siddhas, the givers of the teaching of Hatha Yoga, were always known for their
alchemical abilities.

Those who had mastered a Siddhi, an achievement (essentially a magical superpower),

the Siddhas were accomplished in Alchemy and performed magical transmutation of
elements.

“The Siddhas know how to preserve the body through light rays, sound waves and
medicine. The technique of the preservation of the body is called kaya-sadhana. It is an
attempt to attain a perfected. In short, one who has obtained the power of dematerializing
and spiritualizing the body and knows how to transmute the corruptible physical into the
incorruptible super-physical basis of life is a Siddha.

A Siddha attains and possesses an eternal spiritual body called divya-deha and is able to
finally break out of the karmic cycle and attain deliverance from Space-time.”

Ganapathy, T.N. 2003.The Yoga of Siddha Boganthar; Volume 1. Babaji’s Kriya Yoga
Publications, Inc. Pg.5

Eight Siddhis, sought after by the Siddha Alchemist, can be described as follows:

Anima is a skill of minimizing one’s own form to the size of an atom.

Mahima is the ability to increase the form infinitely.
Lahima is levitation or the ability to fly in the air.
Garima is the ability to reach everywhere; to enter into other bodies.
Prakamya is the ability to overcome natural obstacles or freedom of will; to be
omnipresent in all things.
Isitva is the ability to dominate over the entire creation, to be everywhere and
omnipresent.
Pratti or Kamavasayiva is the ability of attaining everything desired or to remain with no
desires at all.
These siddhis could be compared with the goals of the Alchemists:

The preparation of a compound - elixir, or Philosopher’s Stone, which possessed the

property of transmuting the base metals into gold and silver, and of performing many
other marvelous operations.

The creation of Homunculi, or living beings.

The making of universal solvent, alkahest, which dissolves every substance immersed in
it.
Palingenesis, or the restoration of a plant from its ashes. Successful process with a plant
could possibly lead to the raising of the dead.

The preparation of spiritus mundi, a mystical substance possessing many powers, the
main principle of which was its capacity for dissolving gold.

The extraction of the quintessence or active principle from all substances.

The preparation of liquid gold (aurum potabile), a sovereign remedy; considered a perfect
element, gold was believed to perfect the human body.

Even today, the common perception is that the aim of Alchemy is to produce the
Philosopher’s Stone, which can then be utilized to transmute substances and invoke
immortality.

Yoga does not consider its goal to be an achievement of magical abilities or even
immortality; but rather, the union with the source of all Matter and establishment in the
Self.

It is the unleashing of the essence of the prima materia into your heart that allows your
spirit and flesh to exist simultaneously and intertwined. Magical powers may result from
this, but are in no way the goal.

For the Siddha yogi, the body becomes the Philosopher’s stone and flesh is made
indestructible and immortal by Alchemy.
The Yogic body transforms on a molecular level into the “diamond body”. The concept
of the diamond body became most elaborated in the Tantra of Tibet, Vajrayana,
translated as “diamond vehicle” or “diamond body”.

The goal of these practices was to make the body incorruptible and to turn mortal flesh
into something that neither time nor death itself could affect.

“At length the body is compelled to resign itself to, and obey, the union of the two that
are united (soul and spirit). That is the wondrous transformation of the philosophers, of
body into spirit, and of the latter into body…

Make the unyielding body tractable, so that by the excellence of the spirit coming
together with the soul it becomes a most stable body ready to endure all trials. For gold
is tried in the fire.”[20]
Alchemist Gerhard Dorn, quoted in “Mysterium
Coniunctionis” by Jung
Universal traditions

Alchemy was never considered to be a human creation but rather a divinely inspired
science much like yoga, revealed by Lord Shiva himself.

It was introduced to Rishi Angiras as a divine and secret art.

Nagarjuna learned Alchemy in Kashmir from the Nagas, who whispered this mystic
knowledge in his ear.

Tonpa Shenrab, the founder of the Bon tradition, received it in the form of the 5th Veda,
which came from the skies.

Both Yoga and Alchemy are aimed at overcoming a duality, to rejoin what was separated.
Yoga and Alchemy are the unification of opposites, of the masculine and feminine, of
gross and subtle into the unbreakable.

They are both leading to the discovery of the brightness of the never-ending ring of
Kutashtha, the inner Self who shows us that the goal and the source are one and the same.

18 samscaras of Mercury, 18 chapters of Gita

Entire Bhagavat Gita could be interpreted as an alchemical manual, where Prana is

Mercury and Apana is Sulphur. Mixed and processed together, Mercury is put into
Sulphur, Sulphur into Mercury, then such Mercury introduced to Mercury – and the elixir
of eternal life is created. There are 18 processes of Mercury purification, and there are
18 chapters in the Gita. Let’s look at familiar things from the different, yogic point of
view.

Samskara can be interpreted as “good upbringing and education” – and this is applicable
to the alchemical journey of Mercury through different stages of “taming” and cleansing”
before this element obtains its full majestic power – to convert human bodies and the
base metals into a divine substance.
Elaborate proceedings of cleansing Mercury have to take place before the main
alchemical process even starts; similarly, yoga insists on the purification of the body in
order to obtain pure mind.
Alchemist must perform preliminary cleansing, shodhan, by taking Mercury through the
several stages of various washing, melting, roasting etc.
Next initial step, “creation of the field,” can be compared to the conditioning of the soil to
take a seed; before Mercury is “fed” with mica and other substances it has to be prepared
to digest them; this preliminary preparation is called Kshetrikaran.
Kshetrikaran also has to be applied to the physical body of an aspirant, purifying it
through various methods. Without proper preparation of the body (the field), processed
Mercury (“the seed”), would not be assimilated.

Creation of the Kshetr

Q: Can the first chapter of the Bhagavad Gita be explained from the alchemical point of
view?
A: It describes all impurities of the mind; untreated Mercury is toxic, impure and
“disobedient”.
Both purity and impurity are actual problems; you have to overcome them, to rise beyond
both states.
Accounts of the alchemical Mercury processing as well as detailed description of the
yogic tapas were given as a guidance to overcome the duality – so we could rise above
purity and impurity, good and evil, black and white.
All fixed polarities are bondages; it is a deep philosophical concept, waiting to be
recognized and accepted by the aspiring yogi.

Q: To which chapter of Bhagavad Gita can we relate these initial alchemical processes?
A: In the first chapter of Bhagavad Gita, Arjun just encountered his doubts (impurities of
the mind).
The second chapter of Bhagavad Gita describes Krishna’s creation of a “kshetr”: He
prepares Arjun to receive the ultimate truth, to “digest” a timeless teaching.
After a preliminary cleansing comes the first step of transformation, the first samskara:
Mercury is made to “sweat” in the process of Svedan, a water bath with some plants and
mineral substances.
Then comes Mardan: the steamed Mercury is made into a mortar, paste-like substance by
way of rubbing and grinding with various herbs and acids. After these steps Mercury is
“infused with the emotions” of certain herbs, bhavan. Different substances carry various
types of emotions (or essences, tattvas).

Hatha Yoga Pradipika and Alchemical parallels

Entire Hatha Yoga Pradipika can be looked at from an alchemical point of view –
and we’ll see the great formulas for the interaction of saturated Mercury-Shiva and
Sulphur-Shakti.
Thinking of it, even vajroli can be explained with the example of Mercury and Sulphur.
Q: How?
A: Unite them without mixing and extract Mercury out of this united, but not mixed
substance without letting it evaporate; this process will change the quality of Mercury.
All these three mudras - vajroli, amaroli, sahajoli can be applied to Mercury and
Sulphur. Put them together and observe. Mercury and Sulphur – mostly it is there. There
are so many alchemical processes of Sulphur, amazing in detail; and they will take years
to complete.
Q: What about the relevance to the alchemical process in 3rd and 4th chapters of Hatha
Yoga Pradipika, where bindu is described?
A: Bindu is Mercury, a highly volatile substance. If Mercury is kept and preserved
without evaporation at least at 1000 degrees, or at least at the 100 degrees – then you
can be considered to be a bit friendlier with the Mercury.
That is an aspect of celibacy: essence, Mercury is not flying away and vajroli can be
explained from this perspective.
Q: Is there a connection with the human body where the bindu is located at the “upper
region” of the head?
A: Yes, Shiva and Shakti – Mercury and Sulphur.
Q: And why is sulphur located in muladhara?
A: Because Sulphur is Apana, Shakti, an Earth element. All that power lies in the earth
element and that’s why potent force of Kundalini is asleep in muladhara.
Earth is real Shakti; Kundalini is sleeping on the earth element. When It awakens – it is
an awakening of the main power of the earth element, which will connect all 5 elements,
unifying and making them equal amongst each other.
That’s how a yogic divine superbody is obtained; such a yogi will live an unimaginably
long life…
Mother Earth, our earth is the base element, we always need to remember it.
Q: When this power is risen, will this be a mix of Prana and Apana?
A: Definitely! Same as Prana, brought down in the course of yogic practice – Mercury is
brought down, after many evaporations; then it is brought down to the Sulphur, processed
a thousand times before, again. Together they will give the desired result. It’s a new
chapter in understanding Kriya yoga.

Q: What is bhastrika according to this concept?

A: All experiments will fail without the bellows, the furnace, and the fuel to keep the
desired temperature. Bhastrika plays a very important role here.

Q: If we talk about nadi shodhana in the light of alchemy – are there 2 processes: one is
performed on Mercury, another on Sulphur?
A: Mercury already brought to a setting level, it absorbed every “emotion” of the
Sulphur, together with all other metals and precious stones.
Then such Mercury moves into the different nadi of the entire body; every single hair
will be infilled with the divinity of pure, brahmanical Mercury…

Q: Why it is necessary to switch from right to left nostrils during bhastrika practice?
A: How else will Mercury be distributed to every pore of the body? During this process it
will be distributed equally everywhere in the body.
Yes, Mercury is a semen of Shiva, a timeless seed; Shiva sutras state: “…the yogi
becomes Shiva-like himself”. But if you’re not able to treat, feel and satisfy the very
semen of Shiva, the Mercury, and to absorb, assimilate it into your body– how else would
you become Shiva-like? Think about it.

Q: To what type or part of the Mercury process can the postures (yoga asanas) from
Hatha Yoga Pradipika be attributed?
A: There are many different yantras for the process of Mercury (in this case the boilers
and crucibles), so numerous asanas could be compared to the vessels, which would
contain the divine substance once it is prepared.
When well treated and prepared Mercury is used and consumed by the yogi – it
evaporates inside of the body and accumulates in the upper parts: that is siddhasana and
padmasana.

Q: What are the four stages of Samadhi, described in Hatha Yoga Pradipika, when
viewed through the prism of the alchemical treatment of Mercury?
A: It starts from the description of khechari mudra and shambhavi mudra.
Khechari mudra is when Mercury is poured or transferred inside of the yantra, created
for the process, and remains there without moving.
That stillness is the same for the Mercury as Samadhi for the yogi. Then Mercury is ready
for the next stage of the process and, when it is used and absorbed by the body it will
change the consciousness of the yogi, assisting him to enter the state of shambhavi.
Khechari is a necessary “tool” in the preparation of Mercury for the intake by a yogi,
who is ready to become Shiva-like, shambhavi. When such Mercury is taken internally,
attention is also directed inwards, although the gaze is directed outwards.
This is a description of shambhavi mudra. The body becomes so strong that it can
withstand and transfer the high frequency vibrations of the nada.

When you’re successful at 18 processes of Mercury and Mercury is finally ready (that
happens when the essence has been discovered and it is ready to be used) - then only
daily Samadhi can assist your body in the process of Mercury assimilation. Such is the
shambhavi mudra.
I think this process was described only for yogis.

Ayurveda Prakash describes all 18 processes and at the end it says: when you start using
the Mercury – only by going into the state of Samadhi the body will be able to withstand
the power of Mercury and assimilate it.

Q: Did they mean the state of suspended animation?

A: Samadhi is Samadhi; Samadhi will help to absorb treated Mercury.
Only highly accomplished yogi could succeed in all 18 steps of the Mercury processing
safely.

As discussed, khechari mudra is one of the rules, necessary and is important for the
process, first safety qualification for this experiment with flammable, dangerous and
highly volatile materials. Mercury treatment has to be performed with khechari mudra
throughout the whole process.

Absorption of all emotions

16 chapter of Gita describes rajasic, tamasic and sattvic qualities in people, formed by
th

the gunas; nature itself is a cause of every type of expressed emotions and feelings that
are experienced by human beings.
In the process of Mardan, when pots with ingredients are repeatedly heated, Mercury
absorbs qualities of various herbal and mineral supplements, soaking into itself the
essences, or “emotions” of these divine herbs.
After one has observed and “absorbed” all types of human emotions he is ready to evolve
further. Upon reaching a certain level in yogic practice an aspirant will develop a
different type of empathy; simply by observation he will “absorb”, feel and realize the
essence of each emotional movement in all beings (not only in humans, but also animals,
trees, insects…), upon whom he has focused his mind.
It is a difficult phase.
Next step is Murcchan: ground with a mortar, and mixed with vegetable ingredients,
Mercury becomes unconscious; it is "fainting" or "swooning".
It’s natural characteristics (form, colour, density, volatility), as well as its ability to move,
are lost together with impurities and toxins. It can be collected effortlessly; “quicksilver”
does not live up to its name at this stage any more.

Samadhi
Now the unconscious state of Mercury is similar to the state of Samadhi; 5 chapter, 6
th th

chapter in shlokas 20-23 and some of the last chapters of Bhagavad Gita elaborate on this
condition.
“All the subjects are left outside and Prana and Apana are moving only inside of your
nostrils…Such muni is beyond any fear”.
Solidification, or Bandhan, brings stability to Mercury; it’s evaporative qualities cease,
even when it is heated. Different types of alchemical bandhas have specific medicinal
purposes.
Nittynath in his extraordinary classic work describes different types of solidification and
its purposes. I believe given methods and recipes to be genuine.
When Arjun “solidifies” his emotional state and confront his doubts - he is ready to
fight.
Most difficult part comes with burning Mercury to a bhasma, or ash.
Here comes the “killing”, or Maran. Killed Mercury, or Mritamtak, also
called Mritabhasm, "killed ash" loses its density, fluidity and brilliance. There are such
lines in the ancient texts:
That mercury, because of its heaviness, fell from the mouth of Agni in Darada-
desa.
That mercury, absorbed into the surface of the earth there, came
to remain in that country. By placing that [mercury-rich] ore in a
pätana-yantra, one kills the mercury”.
But some alchemical sources state the opposite: the Mercury is impossible to “kill”, it
simply goes into a great unconscious state, MahaMurcchan (or Mahasamadhi).

Siddha alchemists were capable of resurrecting and reviving such Mercury again and
again.
I’ve seen some incredible experiments when incinerated iron, gold, silver (any metal)
were “brought back from the dead”.
Various formulas for the “resurrection “or the revival of the matter in different metals are
described in various alchemical texts.

Undying Spirit
The point is – nothing actually dies. The essence of any matter continues to live.
Alchemical science considers Mercury to be essential, cleansed of all impurities, as
never-dying spirit, it can’t be killed or destroyed.
And it is the core of the Gita’s message – it speaks of immortal, undying Atma, which
continues to live even after the physical shell, which temporarily sheltered it, is no more.

We can arrive at some interesting conclusions while analyzing a process of “feeding”

Mercury with different gemstones, transformed to the liquid form.
Nine planets affect everyone’s karmic path; by absorbing precious stones, which
represent nine planets, Mercury absorbs essences of the different planetary influences.
Upon successfully concluded process such Mercury takes an alchemist beyond his karma.
By overcoming karmic effects and planetary influence one can truly create and control
his own future.
After swooning Mercury is "resurrected" again; it is steamed with herbal essences, salts,
and grated in a process called Utthapan. This revival helps to restore its previously lost
luster.
Patan consists of three types of distillation: upwards, downwards, and diametrically.
After hundreds of processing cycles Mercury remains liquid, but becomes heat resistant
and “refuses” to evaporate. This is considered to be a great achievement.
Once we have successfully brought and kept Mercury at the melting temperature of 111
degrees, where copper would melt – but Mercury does not. “Awakening” comes together
with “hunger” in Mercury and it starts to absorb other elements. This step is called
Bodhan and “Rodhan” (concretion, jellification).
By this sixth samskara Mercury has become purged and its "virility" had been restored
with the help of the salt bath. This “awakens a hunger” in Mercury. Now it has a "mouth"
and needs to satisfy its hunger.

The Hunger
Remember the 11 chapter of the Gita, where the hunger of Time devours everything:
th

universes and worlds, people and essences, elements, beings and entities?
Described processes of the “Swooning” and “Killing” and their outcomes have parallels
to the 8th chapter.
When Mercury is finally "disciplined," Niyaman, it starts to “obey” the alchemists’
command.
It is the 11th chapter again, where in 41-50 shlokas Arjun begs Krishna to forgive his
reckless and light attitude: “…please forgive whatever I may have done in madness or in
love; if I dishonoured you while relaxing, lying or eating together…Please tolerate the
wrongs I may have done, bear with me …”
Digestive fire of Mercury is made extraordinarily powerful with the introduction of
another process, Dipan, or "kindling", which enhances Mercury's potency. This
operation kindles Mercurys’ desire to "consume" other metals.
Previous eight samskaras have cleaned, purified and detoxified Mercury; now it can be
used for different medical purposes.
Now initial motive for the whole experiment clearly defines the future purpose of the
processed substance, and the alchemist chooses one of 3 great goals.
It could be a medicinal (rogavad) usage, it’s transmutational (lohavad) utilisation and
elixir alchemy (dehavad).

Stages of transformation

Eight additional processes will be needed for the realization of higher goals; after
undergoing these stages Mercury will become a “living being”. It will consume metals,
penetrating them at the cellular and atomic levels.
This will be followed by transubstantiation of the aspirant’s body, similarly penetrated by
Mercury.
Several stages follow: gagana grasa (Gagana is another name of mica), Carana (reason),
and Garbhadruti (liquification of the substances, infused into the “womb” of Mercury).
Then there are two types of Bhyadruti processes: one is when a metal is placed into
Mercury and becomes liquid after being consumed by it. Second is when a metal in its
liquid form is fed to the Mercury externally, as a digestive dietary supplement.

Culminating step, jarana, or "digestion" is followed by the "chewing" (carana) of the

mica or metal by Mercury.

Once digested by Mercury, the given metal no longer exists but has now become
alchemically activated; this Mercury can become transmuted into silver or gold.
Rañjana,"coloration," gives to the Mercury natural colours of the substances it “ate”. Pre-
heated, it is fed with gold, silver, copper, sulphur, mica, and salt.
Sarana or "flowing", is one of the highest alchemical stages, where the potency of
Mercury is intensified in preparation for transmutation. Molten metals and precious
stones (diamonds) are poured into a heated oil, where Mercury is placed.

In the next step mineral and herbal paste is applied to Mercury; it is heated and becomes
capable of penetrating both metals and bodily tissues.

This stage is called kraman. There are two types of kraman: if taken orally, such Mercury
spreads over and penetrates every cell of the body; it “takes hold” of it. All previously
infused ingredients are part of Mercury now, but they preserved specific properties of the
initial essences. Now they enter every atom, every molecule of the penetrated tissue,
carried by a transmutation agent, Mercury.

Another type of kraman (also called Vedha or "transmutation") is a process of feeding

treated Mercury to the base metal; it should convert it into a gold or silver. Just like
human body, whose cellular structure is “taken” by mercury, metals also becoming
“divinized” by the power of the “seed of the Time”.

Who can tolerate and absorb such a powerful substance? Only a Siddha Yogi, who’s
body is able to tolerate and withstand a state of Samadhi is able to “consume” it. Deep
state of suspended animation is another crucial condition for the transmutation of the
body into a timeless capsule of the advanced consciousness.

Traveling through all these samskaras Mercury acts as a divine agent, capable of the
ultimate replacement: of base metals with gold; and of the human body with a
“mercurial,” alchemical body.
Such a journey unavoidably and irreversibly changes the experimenter’s consciousness:
he, who observes the mysterious ways of Nature, who follows every step of the elaborate
discipline, persistently moving towards his goal, eventually comes closer to the Creator
himself.

One of the great and elaborate texts on Mercury, Vrasanatantra, quotes the words of
Shiva: Gyanat mukhti - “By a true wisdom you attain liberation”.
Book states: Pranayama is a way and method to attain this wisdom; pranayama is
conducted by the means of healthy and powerful body. Intake of treated Mercury grants
such a body, a tool for the divine transformation.

In the company of Mercury

Q: You’ve mentioned that your experiments were successfully taken up to the 7 stage
th

(or samskara)?
A: Yes, we went through the shodhan, swedan and mardan; we were able to “feed”
Mercury with the substances three times exceeding its weight and draining it out as well.
It became fire resistant.

In a Svedan, a very difficult stage, pre-processed Mercury is tied in the cloth and hung
inside the cauldron, filled with herbal juices, and heated for hours, made to “sweat”.
I did not get to the stage of liquefying gemstones, although pearls were processed with
greater success.

But we could not prepare Mercury at this stage to absorb these processed pearls…
You see, managing to process and prepare precious stones is half of the deal; if Mercury
does not “accept” prepared solution – then the process comes to a halt.
To kindle a digestive fire, to create a “mouth” through which Mercury begins to feed – all
these elaborate steps should be taken.
Team work, financial capacity and disciplined dedication are the keys to success.

Siddha alchemist clearly indicate that all these painstaking steps of elaborate process are
aimed at one goal: to achieve a great longevity of the physical body – so one can realize a
great wisdom while residing in the ageless body.

Undeniably, quintessential knowledge and wisdom require an extended “absorption”

period.
During this grand, and usually life-long alchemical adventure, one masters unique
qualities: he learns to notice and understand the slightest hints and signs of Nature,
becoming sensitive and intuitive. The very company of Mercury is believed to impact and
change the alchemists’ mind, as well as his body, forever.
All stages of the Mercury treatment process were “invented” by an inquiring human
mind, a mind which searches, explores and challenges the limits of Nature. And
eventually an aspirant discovers that Nature never has limits.

Intrigued by the mysteries of Nature, the human mind ignites human “touch”, which is
needed for the decoding of secrets.
Initial inquiry of individual mind is a necessary requirement – to analyse and solve the
riddle of Life. Cow gives milk but can’t prepare a ghee.

Yes, entire Bhagavad Gita can be explained from alchemical point of view, and we
reviewed some of these parallels above.
Successfully separated essence, purest form of Mercury will be Vasudeva-like.

Q: What happens when we see Vasudeva in the heart during our practice?
A: Vasudeva is a very essence of Prana; so you will be able to realize Prana.

Q: What are the four varnas , ann can varnas definition apply to Mercury?
A: The four varnas of Mercury are: Brahmin, Kshatriya, Vaishya and Shudra.
All 18 samskaras are aimed at turning a Shudra Mercury into a Brahmin.
Brahmanical Mercury does not require cleansing, the single intake of such Mercury
grants immortality. Human body becomes divine with a single dose of Brahmanical
Mercury. That’s why Gods believed to hide it - so humans would not obtain everlasting
life all at once. Which was not a Creator’s plan…

It is said that once in a 1000 years in the Himalaya during a certain constellation of the
stars, drops of such Mercury come to the surface.
Representatives of other “varnas” of Mercury - Vayshua and Kshatriya mercuries - are
almost impossible to obtain; only Shudra Mercury (of widely known colour of the dark
quicksilver) is available now days as a chemically “pure” mercurial substance.

Q: What are three gunas from the alchemical point of view?

A: The gunas, or natural qualities, are relevant to three types of Mercury: solid, liquid
and evaporative.
Solidifying volatile Mercury is a great achievement. Hatha Yoga Pradipika states: “If one
is able to stabilize a Mercury and stabilize the mind– what is left there which cannot be
achieved”?
Q: Is a treated Mercury in a sattvic or rajasic state?
A: It is in the state of Mercury; it is not relevant to sattva or rajas. Let’s say it’s a state of
siddha Mercury.

Q: Why is mercury compared with the mind?

A: Given example is quite vivid: Mercury can’t be picked up because it is liquid, fluid,
ever-moving; so is the mind.

If Mercury can be made stable enough to hold it or if one’s mind could be stabilized and
steadily controlled - then one can achieve anything in all three worlds.
There are different states of Mercury; here at the academy we are trying to purify it to the
brahmanical condition. Mercury and the mind.
Usage of such substance will make the body divine; understanding of all three gunas will
become perfect and detailed.
Only after achieving such a state will the yogi be able to cross beyond the limits of three
gunas.

Q: What would be the alchemical analysis of the 8th chapter of Gita?

A: When Mercury is processed to a point of transformation it signifies a death of one
state (a certain form of Mercury is “killed"), and the beginning of another life form.
Life and Death are just transformational states.

The Mercury “dies”. Just like a life essence leaves a dead body, similarly Mercurys’
essence will abandon its form, leaving remains behind.
After some treatment the captured essence of Mercury will grant immortality to the
alchemist.

Q: What a great patience is needed to carry entire processing of Mercury through!

A: If there is a lack of devotion and dedication – what’s the use of the journey?

Q: Why is Mercury so important, why are numerous references pointing to this material?
A: Regarded as a semen of Shiva it might carry His DNA, memories of Time itself.

Q: What is karma in regard to the process of Mercury?

A: The main karma is a process itself; successful process is a good karma, unsuccessful
processes are bad karmas.

The slightest mistake in the process of Mercury can lead to explosion, making this
process extremely dangerous and difficult.
Blindness is also a possibility; many obstacles await you on the way, requiring permanent
awareness and alertness.
Guidance of a very experienced specialist is required even if you follow all the
instructions in detail; the ordinary person, who decided just to take instructions from the
book will definitely make a mistake. Therefore, guidance by an experienced master is
greatly needed.

Q: Can we talk again about the 11 chapter, where Krishna shows Arjuna His Universal
th

form, when Time reveals itself – how does it relate to a certain stage of Mercury
treatment?
A: When Mercury had been made hungry enough it will devour every offering.
It is quite frightening to watch 100 kgs of Mercury “eating” everything without any
weight increase. Mercury will keep “swallowing” everything from gold to precious
stones, from the beans to mica – anything offered will be consumed. And such a scene
will fill viewers with fear; Arjuna is terrified by this form of Time, the destroyer of
universes.

Q: If Prana is Mercury and Apana is Sulphur: what is the role of mica here?
A: Mica is the essence of the dhatus in the female body.

Q: Can you comment on the last chapter, 18th?

A: Mercury doesn’t differentiate between a man or a woman, high born or low born; \

Mercury will support anyone who is able to purify it.

Illegitimate or not, black or white, poor or rich - it does not matter: if you are able to
process this divine substance - it will become yours, together with it’s magic and divine
qualities.

Q: Isn’t it in the 18th chapter that the whole Gita is discussed again in short?
A: That is just another confusion - about Gita being retold again. There are no shortcuts:
if you have reached the 18th chapter – then of course you can say: oh, it was not difficult,
I’ve done it without effort....

One relative came to visit me; he could never believe that I became a yogi – so he asked
me directly: “What have you achieved in yoga”?
I answered: “Not much”.
He exclaimed: “Ha! I knew that”! – and it was the end of the conversation.

What else can you say? It is impossible to explain all your life experiences in two lines.

So if you haven’t gone through all previous 17 chapters of Bhagavad Gita you can never
understand the last, the 18th chapter.
Some people didn’t read all the chapters at all – they go directly to 18th chapter and that
is wrong.
Refinement of received knowledge, the very process of “digestion” of vidya, each
step of the journey applied equally to the mind and to the substance. In order to
reach divinity we should travel through the steps of Kriya yoga practice, through
the chapters of Bhagavad Gita in the same steady and impeccable manner that
Siddha Yogis travelled through all 18 steps of Mercury processing

Sometimes Mercury is used to achieve bodily pleasures (because there are many Mercury
formulas for the potency, better than Viagra); if the person are only interested in them,
then he is asura.
But those who extract the divinity out of Mercury and use it for the higher purposes
possess divine qualities.

Q: Is it not the same with the four types of devotion?

A: Most ayurvedic medicines contain processed Mercury and Sulphur; therefore you’re
just creating medicine for the purpose of curing a disease and charging money for it; this
is dharma.
Artha is in those who ask to be cured, to be saved from dying, who are begging for help;
and they shall receive prepared medicine.

Q: How can dharma, artha, kama and moksha be explained in this context?
A: Dharma is when you choose a career and this career carries you through life; such is
the literal translation of dharma, “carrier”. If the chosen career is right, you will earn
enough money.

Then, if you’ve got enough money, you’ll experience Kama: most of your desires will be
fulfilled.

If one of your wishes could be a successful completion of all 18 steps of Mercury

processing and creation of a divine essence - this wish belongs to a category of desires.
With enough money you might just pursue this desire and achieve Moksha. Success in
that process will appease your desire to achieve the established goal of distilling and
possessing magic material.

]As a final result of elaborate alchemical process, transformed mercury at it’s 18th, last
samskara becomes capable of transmuting base metals into gold or silver; now it could be
taken internally.

This is sarir-yoga stage: mercury pill is placed in the mouth, and potent force of
brahminical mercury penetrates the cellular structure of the body. Such a body becomes
perfected, immortal, golden or “diamond”.
Q: What is happening after one has “absorbed” and “realized” all 18 chapters of Gita?
A: Full liberation.
As discussed in the comments to “Twilight language of Gorakh bodh”, Bhagavad Gita
itself might be a manual for immortals, who obtained the luxury of objective observation
of Time, being in the timeless bodies.
It is much deeper and philosophical than we imagine.

Alchemical Kriya Yoga

Q: Instead of khechari there is another term in the text – khecharatva.
A: “ Khecharatva” means ability to fly.

Q: Does it mean that Mercury processing can be done only by someone who is able to
fly?
A: No, the very absorption and usage of the Mercury will give you khecharatva, anti-
gravitational effect. It is one of the results of Mercury consumption.

Q: Can khechari help in some other situation also?

A: In all experiments on Mercury. That’s why most of them failed, as the alchemists
were not familiar with it.

Khechari mudra is done only in Kriya yoga for the development and advancement of the
mind; it is also done during experiments with Mercury. Favorite mudra of Shiva,
khechari, is done during experiments with the essence of Shiva, Mercury.
Many ancient books on Ayurveda books describe this initial requirement.
In another great book, Rasarnava Tantra, Shiva speaks: “you will be liberated by the true
knowledge.

Prana gives gyana: with successful Pranayama you will obtain real knowledge. Prana
exists in the very healthy body; by taking rasayana your body radiates health - so create
rasayana”. This is a step by step instruction.

Even the Vedas talk about the essence of the creator, Ishwar: “ He is a rasa Himself –
whoever the Supreme power is” .
Mercury is called rasa and raseina; perhaps, knowledge of Mercury grants a great
wisdom, all-knowing. One will be equal to Shiva Himself.

Proper preparation and sufficient experience are must; if one of these ingredients is
missing – the whole enterprise will be unsuccessful.
I’ve seen some non-yogis, who conducted experiments on Mercury; some of them went
blind, others got some serious asthmatic problems and became very sick…. Experiments
on Mercury are extremely dangerous.
Q: Should khechari be implemented in emergency situations?
A: It is highly recommended only while experimenting on Mercury. Kriya yogi use
khechari in the process – and most of it goes safe. Very rarely something can go wrong.
Q: What is “Dehi” in alchemical process?
A: Dehi is the essence of Mercury; after removing 7 layers of its impurities the real
essence of Mercury, Dehi, which hides inside Mercury, will be found.
Q: What is the impact on the mind?
A: When yogi has taken enriched and prepared Mercury his mind turns into a supermind.
Mercury adds potency to the evolution of consciousness.
Another rule for the alchemists: after finishing the experiments collect all the results,
leave everything behind, leave the area and never come back. Never remain in one place
and keep moving.

Q: Just abandon the place and leave?

A: And break all the equipment, destroying all remaining “evidence”. Your laboratory,
all medicines, all leftovers, herbs and supplies- everything. Texts very clearly state:
destroy your laboratory – and then move, leave the area forever and never come back.

Q: Is it because of people who will try to get the same results, using your lab?
A: Of course. Greed is the main driving force of humanity.
There are 8 Pranayamas and 10 mudras.
Pranayama were created for the purification. Mercury also demands 18 purifying
processes; after a successful completion of all these processes Mercury grants
immortality.

After successful completion of 8 types of Pranayama, your journey toward immortality

begins. This is similar to 8 processes, recommended for purification of the Mercury:
when treated sufficiently – it can subdue aging and death.
After special purification (call it Mercury Pranayama), Mercury is prepared for the next
stages of the treatment (it can be called mahamudra in continuity with yogic analogy).

In Ayurveda Mudra is used to seal a container with substances for the preparation of
bhasma out of it.
Mahamudra is called “the great seal”. Alchemical process, comparable with mahamudra
technique is a prevention of Mercury’s evaporation from the sealed container.

But even in a sealed container the Mercury will change its qualities, will try to leave the
bottom of container (compare it with the Prana leaving the body through the nostrils).

It will move up and stay on the top of the container, or “in sahasra”.
There is a special technical ayurvedic term called “put”: when the Mercury is “put” into
container and then the container is “put” in the fire.
After successful completion of all eight purification steps, 9th process (if done
successfully) follows; this method will put the Mercury on the verge of “death”. Two
“puts”, given to the Mercury, lead it to attain a death-like state, marana...

What will happen then? Newly transformed substance will ward off old age and death. It
will nearly become a bhasma, burned-out “ashes” of it’s former “body”.
Then we turn to the mahavedha - a special method of “feeding” and “infusing” Mercury
with various metals. There is also a mudra for which (as it said) you should have enough
food - Viparita Karani.
This means ignition of the hunger in Mercury to such an extent that everything should be
ready for the Mercury’s immediate consumption, the feast….

There should be plenty of liquid metals, gold, mica and liquefied precious stones;
Mercury will continue to eat as long as it is able to digest them. Then amazing and divine
transformation will take place.

Upon completion of this process alchemist can move to “Shakti Chalini “- working with
specially saturated Sulphur (Sulphur is Shakti).
After “vajroli, amaroli and sahajoli” treatments both substances (Mercury and Sulphur)
will become extremely “calm”, entering a state close to the state of bhasma; and
immortality follows.

Q: How could this alchemical parallel be drawn with mahamudra, practiced in Kriya
yoga?
A: It is directly connected: In Kriya yoga we work with Prana, and in Alchemy Prana-
Shiva is Mercury. Both of these formulas can be combined together.
It is said about mahamudra: sadhak, who practices this mudra will enter a death-like
state.

When Mercury is fully stabilized and “still”, it enters a state of suspended animation
without dying; it will change its properties.
If used wisely, it will stop ageing and death. Mahamudra can be also compared to a
furnace – ignited fire will spread where it is required.

Q: What happens in the Nabhi center?

A: Nabhi acts as a furnace, heating up the entire system.
Central piece of equipment in any alchemical laboratory is a furnace, oven, stove - how
else can one light the fire for Prana or Mercury? Nabhi means center where the fire lives.

Q: How is the position of the hands in Nabhi Kriya connected with the alchemical
process?
A: Female power, power of Shakti, is asleep in the navel center. That means the power of
Sulphur - Shakti sleeps in there.
This mudra is aimed at the awakening of Shakti, the female creative power, sealed inside
of your navel.

When bhasma is successfully made out of Mercury it can grant numerous things: with it
base metals could be converted into gold; this is a test for the readiness of newly obtained
substance to transform “normal” human body into a super body.
It is a great test: if it changes any metal into gold then it can give to a mortal body new
divine, undestructable form.

Q: Is mahabandha able to hold Mercury?

A: Yes, mahabandha is applied when the heat treated Mercury will remain sealed inside.
Mahamudra, mahabandha, mahavedha shall be done one after another.

Then comes khechari: Mercury will grant power to levitate; or maybe it will enter all the
voids of the body, penetrating and filling all “empty spaces” on the cellular level

When a treated Mercury gets into the cellular or interatomic space of the human body
(and this will be 99.9% of the body) it changes qualities of these spaces; the properties of
bodily matter will change - and the different consciousness will be awakened in these
voids.
The cells, infused with the Mercury’s properties, will change their vibrations; as a result,
vibration of the entire body will change. And if the vibration of your inner void changes,
so will you and your consciousness.

Shakti, creative power can be activated by such method. It sleeps within you: so wake it
up! If the semen is thrown out again and again, the power of Shakti inside of the body
(any body, male or female) will continue to lay dormant; and if the seed is retained - then
new process will be triggered and a real unity will take place.

Q: Do we heat up the entire system with mahamudra?

A: We heat up the system and seal the body; there is no discharge on any level – and then
Prana will find it’s own special way inside the body.

Q: What is next – should we try to wake up the female power inside of the body?
A: Yes; Sulphur is the key: Mercury will not be activated without being saturated with
Sulphur. Temperature treatment should be intensified. Without obtaining its heat-resistant
properties Mercury will not be ready for anything else.

At first Mercury will try to fly away - but you will stop it from evaporating; and then an
entirely new process will start inside of it, and substance will obtain it’s new power.
Starving the Mercury
As said, there are several (7-8) steps of Mercury treatment, prescribed for its purification;
then Mercury is made “hungry” and treated with gold, mica, and other things.
Before that mica needs to be made liquid – and then Mercury eats it without any increase
in its own weight.
After that, Mercury is fed with gold, “eating” up to 64 times in weight of Mercury.
Again, gold is absorbed by Mercury without any increase in its weight.
Then nine precious and semi-precious stones are liquefied and eaten by the Mercury; the
quality of Mercury becomes divine.
Another processes follows, then bhasma is prepared, then….
According to the calculations– it will take at least 20 years to process Mercury to the final
stage. But if this procedure is successful, the obtained substance will grant 10000 years of
life.

Q: How much money is needed to sustain the preparation process for 20 years?
A: Great patience is needed because there is no guarantee for the success of each
experiment; according to the books every step of the Mercury treatment needs to be
performed with absolute success.

Q: Is money one of the main and important conditions for such a prolonged experiment?
A: Money, will, and ambitious idea - a right mix of all is needed.
I have done some small experiments with seven stepped processes of Mercury
purification; even though chemically pure Mercury could not be obtained, it’s quality
changed, it became extremely bright and devoured gold in seconds. It could “eat” silver
as well – but gold disappeared in it momentarily.

Q: Is it possible to find chemically pure Mercury?

A: Yes, it’s easy. It can be bought from various chemical stores and labs. Getting the
initial ingredients is not a difficult task, but to find the experts to work under your
direction is more challenging.

Another important requirement will be to have sufficient funds to pay these specialists
and to have a complete laboratory.
Not an entirely modern laboratory, but a combination of modern equipment and ancient
stock items – because old alchemical books describe old tools and ancient measuring
devices - needed for the process.

Another component: to have a good reliable supplier, who will ensure the steady delivery
of different herbs; some of them are available only in the Himalayas, some grow only in
central India; a large stock of herbs is needed.
But if there is a strong intention, will and funds – then anything is possible.

Cooling and coloring

After the Mercury becomes heat resistant and non-evaporative in intense heat it needs to
undergo a cooling process of “sitkari”.
In the art of pranayama the importance of Apana is so great because it possesses a quality
similar to alchemical ingredient Sulphur.
The task of making sulphur heat resistant is nearing impossibility, it is even harder than
the creation of a heat-resistant Mercury.
Q: It is connected with vajroli, amaroli and sahajoli?
A: No, these three are processes between Mercury and Sulphur.
Q: Are there parallels between the practice of yoga and the process of making Sulphur
heat resistant?
A: Yes. When Apana is put into a heart (and as the nature of Prana is to remain cool; only
Apana keeps the body warm), when Apana reaches the heart – it will cool down. Prana
will take its place and it will keep the body warm – in a different way; reversal. So
Mercury will take all the “emotions” of Sulphur and Sulphur will take all the “emotions”
of the Mercury. I give this idea just to ignite your imagination.

Q: What is a process of “Ranjana”?

A: Ranjana is a process of “coloring” of the Mercury, giving different colors to it. When
a red ruby stone is made liquid and fed to the Mercury, the stone’s color will give a red
shade to the Mercury. But Mercury itself will remain liquid.

Such kinds of substances are called drutis: even mica is druti and can be converted to a
liquid form and fed to the Mercury. It is a very potent technique; but the conversion of
gold or mica into a liquid forms is nearing impossibility.
At the end of the treatment process the Mercury obtains final color, beginning to shine
like a sun; then it is ready for the next process.

Q: What kind of properties “coloring” can be added to a yogic practice?

A: The colors in the aura, in the light of your own consciousness. The more
electromagnetic flashes your brain will produce – the more colorful your aura will
become. First projected colours will become pure; and finally aura will become white or
golden.
Q: Can you comment on a process named “kraman”, when Mercury “leaps”?
A: Kraman is not about leaping or jumping. This is a final, conclusive stage, when
treated Mercury is taken by the aspirant and is assimilated by every pore. Each body cell
is permeated with the effect of Mercury, transmuting the human body into a superbody.

Kraman is a term for the “final absorption”, when highly potent process mercury
“enters”a base metal irrevocably changing its base structure on atomic level – and
changing it into gold.

At the conclusion of certain stage in the process the solidification of Mercury is called
khechari; such substance is nearly impossible to create.
Old texts state that a small pill of such mercury, placed under the tongue, gives an ability
to cover 400 miles in one instant. Solidified and controlled, khechari mercury grants the
power to fly.
Speaking of parallels in yoga: elevated, tamed and purified Prana is held for at least 48
minutes – then it grants ability “to move in space”.
Alchemical experiments demand solid knowledge about the subject, bravery to go
through the process and a great patience – because such a journey takes years. And at any
moment something may go wrong, including a fatal explosion.

Q: But an “explosion” is highly unlikely to happen in the course of yoga practice?

A: I don’t think so; but if something is done wrong in yoga, it could cause harm to the
body and mind as well.
Kriya yoga is safe if practiced as taught, step by step.
To start the car one needs to put the first gear on, letting the clutch go; the car could not
be brought directly to the top gear – it will not move. It needs time to accelerate to full
speed. Same rule applies to the practice of yoga.

Q: Is Mercury somehow connected with the vayus inside of a body?

A: No, it is rather resembles emotions of your mind. There is a saying in Ayurveda –
“bhavana dena” – to give certain emotions to the main substance. With all herbs, applied
in the process, Mercury is given certain “emotions”, which modify and infuse its
properties.

Q: Prana supports the mind; but will mind with the practice of yoga support Prana to give
it different emotions?
A: After some Pranayama practice Prana and Apana will be able to stimulate the dormant
and sleeping mind; only after such stimulation the mind will really begin to think. We
need to wake up a sleeping giant. Then the alchemical process will begin.
Body itself resembles a damaru yantra, it is like a big pot and a small pot; you need to
process Prana - and it will rise up.
Q: But they say it must be collected up and down also?
A: You see, it is not once you have taken up Prana that it will always remain there; it’s up
to you. With sufficient practice you can take it anywhere. From above, to below; and
from below, up above; anywhere.

Q: What is the use of taking it down?

A: To make your earthly body very powerful. Support system is always needed. It
doesn’t mean if you’re living on the top floor that the ground floor is useless and you can
remove it. Everything has its own importance.

Purifying Sulphur

Q: What about the purification of Sulphur? Had anyone ever managed to do it?

A: Purification of Sulphur is much easier than purifying Mercury. Sulphur is called

balivasa. King Bali attained immortality with Sulphur. There are different experiments
with pure Sulphur.

Purified and properly prepared, it will be absorbed by the body and will give very long
life.

Q: Will it be real immortality or a very long life?

A: When the term “immortality” or “chiranjeevi” is used it means that the body is
indestructible.

Won’t you agree that immortality and a very long life span are both desirable…

Q: Can any substance be purified to give some extraordinary essence?

A: There are no other such substances described, only some herbs, Mercury and Sulphur.

Q: But you mentioned that mica is an important ingredient in the process?

A: It is creating the field, where the seed of Mercury and Sulphur will be planted and
sown and you will get the desired result.

Q: Does Mica give physical strength?

A: You need to have a strong body to tolerate Mercury and Sulphur. They compliment
each other.
Q: From what substance “pishachi oil” can be procured?

A: It must be a name of some herb. You see, there is salt called “narsadar”, in Sanskrit it
is called “narsar”.

Once some man came to me (he was experimenting with alchemy in Gwalior), and asked
how the essence could be extracted out of a human?

I inquired: “ What do you mean?” He had shown me a recipe, where “narsar” was
mentioned. But it is also a plant, like aloe vera, called “kanya, grat kumarika, a virgin”.
And there is a description :“ take a juice of a virgin”…It speaks of aloe vera juice – but in
confusion people think of the “juice of the virgin”.

Q: Is it necessary to use all of the eight metals in the process of Mercury purification?

A: No, there are different methods, not described in Ayurvedic books but known to some
sadhus and yogis. Even mica may not be so greatly important, but the purification of the
Mercury is. That takes time.

Q: How much time?

A: From 3 to 4-5 months, depending on the situation. Just to purify it, to detox it and to
make it safe for usage takes not more than 3-4 months.

Q: Is a specific timing (season) required for this work?

A: Yes.

Q: What do you think about phosphorus?

A: It’s the very potent tonic for your brain.

Q: Is it also a rasayana?

A: No, such property is not mentioned anywhere.

Varnas of the Mercury

Q: European alchemical tradition speaks about third element – salt?

A: In India it is called navsara and suhava. Synonym of the word “Shiva” is Datura,
Mercury and suhava. Male jackal is “shiv”. Shilajit as well; all these words stand for
“Shiva” in Sanskrit.

Q: It is said that Mercury could be samukha and nirmukha – what is it?

A: Samukha means very great achievement.

When you have awoken hunger in mercury, then you have to turn gold and other metals
into liquid form and feed mercury, to satisfy its hunger.

Then you have to put some precious stones – from diamond to all nine major stones
through the liquefaction, make them liquid and and then feed mercury with this
substance.

Next step is to liquefy mica and feed it to mercury. Then a certain effect will occur.
Nirmukha occurs when mercury has no more capacity to absorb, it reaches absorption
limits.

Today the brahmanical Mercury is not available, only shudra Mercury can be
obtained. Because of its “varna” shudra Mercury needs purification. If you’re lucky
enough to get Brahmin Mercury – you can take it directly and become immortal.

Q: Are there 5 wells in India with all types of Mercury, as per legends?

A: They existed in Himalaya – but now they are lost; or maybe lost to the society, which
is good. Worthless people should not become immortal.

But these wells might still be in the mountains, guarded by siddhas or shivaganas. Most
of the powerful rasayanic herbs are guarded by shivaganas. Same might be true for the
sources of power and “fountains of life”.

Ancient text, Rasendracüdämani, speaks of five deep wells, where mercury is “born”;
each of these wells is believed to produce a certain type of mercury. From this division
the “hierarchy of mercury”, or it’s varnas, originated.
It is believed that the mercury in the northern well is red, shudra.
Brahminical mercury, born in the eastern well, is white. Southern well produces bluish-
black, kshatrya mercury.
Western well produces yellow vaisya substance and the Central well has a variety of all
rasas, misraka, and it’s mix is compared to a "peacock's tail."

Five names of mercury are rasa (sfurla or shudra, north), parada, giver of immortality
(braminical, east), rasendra, lord of the rasas (kshatrya, south), sfita, (vayshya varna,
west). Central well has no varna, it is said to be a source of all four types of mercury.
Other texts ( Rasärnava, Käkacandesvarimata) assign varnas to four types of mica and
four types of diamond.

Offering Apana-Sulphur to Prana-Mercury

Mysterious alchemy processes happen in your physical body: let’s think of Prana as a
Mercury and Apana as a Sulphur. The best way to treat Mercury is to offer Sulphur to
Mercury and Mercury to Sulphur; then finally Sulphur disappears; this specially treated
Mercury offered to Mercury.
Then the final substance becomes divine. Imagine pure Prana: such Prana will change the
alchemy of your physicality. Offer your Apana to Prana and Prana to Apana, offer your body
to your mind and your mind to your body, so they will “change places”, becoming “conscious”
of each other.
Q: Could all 10 Pranas change their qualities?
A: All these types are parts of one universal Prana, they are all considered.
The change of pranic properties is happening only when Apana, merged with the Prana is
absorbed by the body.
This process can be compared with alchemic process of offering Sulphur to the Mercury.
The same is happening in the practice of yoga you’ve learnt and practice already; similar
secret alchemic processes are triggered in your body by the art of Kriya.
Confusion about the various types of Prana comes with the detailed descriptions of each,
were unity of the Prana was ignored. It is not recommended to explain the entire human
body using separate limbs or fingers as a tutorial; people become more confused.
Q: So when Prana enters the body, it….?
A: It takes the form of the whole body at once…Every cell and organ, every limb at that
moment is taken by prana; prana infills all forms..

Carbon. Oxygen. Sulphur. Immortality.

We exhale carbon dioxide and inhale oxygen - sounds easy, right?

If with a practice of yoga we change this order, and begin to inhale carbon dioxide and
exhale oxygen – then immortality will become a reality..

Q: But how?

A: You’re already practicing a certain technique, and it’s a matter of time to obtain its
results.

What does it mean – “ to hold your breath”? Intake of oxygen undergoes transformation
into carbon dioxide in the lungs.

The longer the oxygen is kept inside – the better tolerance for the carbon dioxide body
develops.

Carbon is the basis of life. By breathing out we are exhaling the essence of life.

Q: I want to understand the chemical process…

A: It would be difficult to explain this chemical process in detail, because it is extremely

rare phenomena; the scientists, not knowing much about the effects of yoga, still
consider it as a magic.

Q: Can you explain how it works from the very basic level?

A: Develop high tolerance for the carbon dioxide – it is not enough just to retain and hold
your breath. Slow down your breathing rate to the lowest possible.

The usual cycle of breath is 17-24 in one minute; if you are able to slow your breath
down to 4-5 breaths per minute, this will indicate your tolerance for high doses of carbon
dioxide.
The lesser breath cycles per minute – the better.
An explanation of this chemical reaction might be a bit difficult for some people who
have not studied chemistry. But we’ll try to outline some basic logic.

Where is the biggest storage of the oxygen supply in your body?

Our body consists of 71% of water; this liquid contains two parts of hydrogen and one
part of oxygen. With yogic practice, water in your body will no longer have the
properties of ordinary water; level of oxygen in it will drastically decrease.

Only hydrogen will remain; using power of hydrogen yogis are able to levitate. Their
bodies become extremely light and gravity is conquered.
Let’s also remember that oxygen is the real cause of aging; oxidation occurs not only in
metals, but in all cellular systems.
Q: Let’s take the erythrocytes – they work like the taxis, delivering oxygen…

A: Blood circulation stops during Samadhi, and oxygen is not needed. No need to take a
taxi.

Q: Erythrocytes take oxygen from the lungs and deliver it to the cells; then they take the
carbon dioxide back to the lungs to breathe out. The cells needs oxygen, necessary for the
processes in the body.

A: You see, oxygen intake is just a matter of program your cells are trained to accept. If
you can re-code and change the program of the cells – then a completely different story
will begin.

The oxidation is scientifically proven to be the cause of aging.

The less oxygen you intake, the younger you will remain. The oxygen is the real killer.

Human body stores oxygen in the water it consists of - and that is the reason we
are breathing.

If that level of oxygen stored in the body is lowered - than the very pattern of your breath
differs from the “norm”.

What could be the cause of immortality? Hydrogen sulfide in our brains: if there is a
sufficient amount of it we can hibernate. Most of the hibernating animals have a high
level of hydrogen sulfide in the brain.

What is Sulphur? As long as the body is not able to generate it on it’s own – external
intake of the Sulphur will not help.

Less oxygen, more hydrogen, then conversion of hydrogen into a hydrogen sulfide (it’s
greatest concentration is in the brain), and you will be able to hibernate for a long period
of time. Samadhi can be viewed as hibernation.

Such a state will lead to endless life; the entire system will be operating in a different
time mode; this is scientific substantiation of immortality.

Remember, we discussed addition of one of the greatest components, Mercury to the

liquid content of the human body?

Another alchemical process may lay in lessening the oxygen and enhancing the hydrogen
content and Sulphur: it will create certain level of hydrogen sulfide in the body.

That will tremendously increase life longevity.

Q: There are some scientific theories that Mercury can change DNA…

A: Ayurveda also believes in that. Mercury, Sulphur, phosphorus and arsenic are very
important elements. The right processing of their ingredients takes a very long line.

Maybe you will start to understand why self-realization also takes such a long time.

Q: What do you think about third alchemical component – salt?

A: Sometimes in Ayurveda it’s mica.

Q: And another alchemical element must be datura, the poisonous flower, also known as
the devil's trumpet, or a moonflower, devil's weed or hell's bells …

A: It is a very mystical plant. There is not much information about datura even in
Ayurveda.

In the Sanskrit dictionary Datura is called “Shiva”; this plant possesses an extraordinary
properties.

By the way, speaking about salt: there is another type of salt (called suhaga in Hindi) also
called Shiva in Sanskrit. It also has outstanding qualities.
