Remedial Program - Grade Five

Dear parents,

As it is always a part of the school’s mission to improve the students’ level in the

English language and its four skills (Listening, speaking, reading and writing), we

would like to inform you that during summer, we are preparing for a remedial

program with the aim of helping the students to get improved and get enhanced.

These sessions will focus mainly on the ways and methods to enhance these four

skills within intensive practice. In addition, structure and vocabulary will be

included as a means to practice within these four skills as well. Furthermore,

learners will be utilized on how to fully benefit from this program.

This program has different objectives for each skill.

1. Listening.

 Learners will practice listening in order to enhance the vocabulary and

structure.

 Learners will practice listening within different texts for understanding.

2. Speaking.

 Learners will practice speaking in order to be more fluent.

 Learners will practice speaking about different topics.

3. Reading.

 Learners will practice skim and scan reading.

 Learners will practice reading different topics.

 Learners will practice reading to enhance their vocabulary and structure.


4. Writing.

 Learners will be acquainted with the basics of forming an appropriate

paragraph using good structure and relevant vocabulary.

 Learners will know the different types of writing.

 Learners will practice writing using different techniques.
