Some -re verbs behave regularly in the present except for

Naître – to be born, Connaître – to know (a person)/to be pronunciation of their c: familiar with, etc. Boire – to drink Recevoir – to receive, 1 nais Décevoir – to disappoint, etc. 2 nais 1 bois 1 reçois 3 naît 2 bois 2 reçois 1 naissons 3 boit 3 reçoit 2 naissez 1 buvons 1 recevons 3 naissent 2 buvez 2 recevez 3. Mettre – to set down/to put, Admettre – to admit, 3 boivent 3 reçoivent Promettre – to promise, Battre – to beat, Abattre – to slaughter/cut down, etc. Mourir also changes its stem in the singular and in the third- 1 mets person plural.
