Purpose
The course is designed to equip students on the care of management of children. The
aim is to provide knowledge, attitude and skills on growth and development, physical
examination, taking history and management of pediatric emergencies. It involves
theory and practical sessions.
Clinical Learning Outcomes
At the end of the course the student will be able to:
1. Conduct pediatric health assessment to include history taking, physical
examination and diagnostic evaluation.
2. Conduct nutritional assessment on a child
3. Conduct and be examined on the following Pediatric techniques
a. Vital signs

b. Medication

c. Restraints
 d. Feeding

e. Resuscitation

f. Immunization
4. Manage a pediatric in the hospital setting
