Digital image
A digital image is a representation of a real image as a
set of numbers that can be stored and processed by a
computer.
Digital images can be black and white, color (often in
RGB format), or non-optical (such as ultrasound or
X-ray).
Digital images can be manipulated using various
techniques and software to enhance their quality,
extract information, or automate tasks.
File format
Sure, file formats for digital images include
JPEG, PNG, GIF, SVG, WebP, and AVIF,
among others. Each format has its own
strengths and weaknesses, such as
compression level, color depth, and
compatibility with different web browsers.

JPEG
PEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group) is a popular raster image
format that is widely used for storing and transmitting photographic
images. It uses lossy compression, which reduces file size at the cost of
image quality.

JPEG is commonly used for processing and storage of full-color images

with realistic elements and brightness and color transitions. It is also
used for storing and transmitting graphical digital content, such as
photos, scanned copies of digitized pictures, and other similar use
cases.
