Find the partial derivative of 𝑧 = 𝑥𝑐𝑜𝑠𝑦 + 𝑦𝑠𝑖𝑛𝑥 with respect to x and y.
SOLUTION:
a) Partial derivative of z with respect to x.


b) Partial derivative of z with respect to y.

Q no 2:
Let 𝑧 = 5𝑥^2𝑦^4 , where 𝑥 = 𝑡^2 and 𝑦 = 𝑡^3 . Find 𝜕𝑧 𝜕𝑡 by using Chain rule.

Show that the vectors 𝑎 = 5𝑖 + 3𝑗 + 2𝑘 and 𝑏 = 3𝑖 − 7𝑗 + 3𝑘 are orthogonal.
SOLUTION:
The vector a & b are orthogonal if their dot product is 0
 For the vector a = 5i + 3j + 2k
 For the vector b = 3i – 7j + 3k

We have;
 a.b = (5)(3) + (3)(-7) + 2(3)
 a.b = 15 – 21 + 6 = 0
