BEING HAPPY

IS NOT BEING AFRAID

OF ONE’S
FEELINGS
As a child, I have been called sensitive as I would cry
in the littlest of things. Time passes by and I learned to
withhold or set free my emotions, resulting to bottling
them up. It became a burden to me since not being an
expressive person tend to feel less sympathy to others.
And the bottled up emotions would be redirected into a
different type of emotion, mostly anger. The feeling of
irritation is the most pronounced emotion I have.
Instead of easing up pain by crying, I would mostly
blame myself in anger.

This sentence inspires me to change my perspective

about feelings. Just like in the movie, ‘Inside Out’, joy
isn’t the only important emotion. Sadness, anger,
disgust and fear are part of who we are. We should
embrace those emotions and not supress because
sometimes, you need to feel other emotions to reach
happiness.
