This is a letter of reference for Ariann Adams. I have been privileged to have Ariann in class as she pursues her
teaching certification. Ariann has submitted written assignments for my evaluation, including plans for using both
formative and summative assessments strategies. In addition, she has successfully presented material to her
classmates and me. Ariann has consistently demonstrated thoughtful products and skilled performance. She is
scholarly in her approach to her work and assignments.
Ariann has increased her knowledge of pedagogy and content. She is developing skills for setting appropriate
instructional outcomes as well as strategies for designing challenging learning tasks for the children. She recognizes
the importance of aligning learning activities with standards and curricular expectations in order to set high goals for
student achievement. Ariann has experience in planning authentic equitable formative assessments in order to
monitor student progress in a meaningful manner and inform her day to day instruction.
Ariann has a pleasant and cheerful personality which assists in creating an effective learning environment. She
presents an encouraging and affirming attitude and understands the importance of creating a classroom culture
where children feel safe and comfortable. Her genuine care and respect for children is evident in her responses to
the assignments as well as her work in the classroom.

Ariann is a reflective educator, learning to revise and adapt as needed. I have found her to be open to my
suggestions as well as those from her peers. She has worked in collegial groups during our class times, and
participated willingly in the discussion and creation of products. Ariann demonstrates high standards of behavior,
respects confidentiality, and is committed to continuing her growth as an educator.

For these reasons and many others, I highly recommend Ariann for any position for which she is qualified.
