2. BACKGROUND

2.1 HISTORY

The strong GCash acceptance of financial services in the Philippines led to

the creation of the KeyPay Project at the beginning of the year. The introduction of this

digital wallet has made Filipinos reliant on it and made managing finances easier. With

this, the GCash application has a lot of features, which makes it difficult to understand

and satisfy every user. Therefore, the project exists to give them knowledge about areas

that require improvement or to improve client services.

This project's development will be primarily concerned with GCash, an already-

existing company, and its innovation. The main objective of the KeyPay Project is to

enhance GCASH—the leading financial technology in the Philippines—by introducing a

unique feature that will enable a wide range of users to benefit from its services. With the

help of this project, application users will receive additional services that will improve their

entire experience and make it quicker, safer, and more practical.

The foundation of this project will be GCash. A mobile wallet, mobile payment, and

branchless banking service from the Philippines is called GCash. It was first released in

2004 and is owned by Mynt (formerly Globe Fintech Innovations, Inc.), a joint venture

between Ant Group, a subsidiary of the Alibaba Group and the operator of Alipay, the

world's leading open digital lifestyle platform; Ayala Group of Companies, one of the

Philippines' largest business conglomerates; and Globe Group, a major Philippine

telecommunications provider (Mynt is listed as a subsidiary of 917Ventures).In 2012, the

University of Caloocan City
College of Business and Accountancy

GCash app was launched as a move to transition from cash-in and cash-out outlets to a

fully cashless system.

In today's market, GCash provides a wide range of financial services, such as P2P

money transfers, bill payments, mobile prepaid load purchases, online and offline

merchant payments, savings and investment possibilities, credit services, insurance, and

more. To broaden its reach and let customers conduct business with a developing

network of companies, it has also formed relationships with numerous retailers, utilities,

governmental organizations, and financial institutions.

2.2 REQUIREMENTS (BUSINESS PROBLEM, BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY)

Business Problems

Cashless payments are one of today's most popular sectors, and they are more

convenient for users, especially when a pandemic strikes this country. Users sought

contactless payment methods in stores and purchased more online. According to

Clearsale, the market for digital wallets is expected to increase by 18.9% year on year as

a result of these new consumer habits. Accepting digital payments might enhance

conversions but can also be complicated, especially if they are the developer of this

software. Here are several of the hurdles that the developers may face.

Fraud Detection and Mitigation. Data security and convenience are consumers

motivation in using digital wallets as online shopping surged during the pandemic.

According to Lourenco R., 80% of retailers reported a rise in so-called friendly fraud in

2021, and 31% reported problems in challenging friendly fraud chargebacks. This matters

because while digital wallets offer authentication features like codes, fingerprints, or face

scans to prevent account takeover if the customer’s phone is lost or stolen, those features

cannot stop fraud committed by an otherwise legitimate customer. It is significant to take

care of frauds that create problems in digital wallet app development. People who are

unfamiliar with digital wallets are easily fooled. Digital wallet payment risk is associated

with data theft, data leak, malware attack and hacking.

Lack of Trust. Customers as well as companies have been moving away from

cash in the past year, but customers have not embraced mobile wallets as a replacement.

According to McKinsey, customers' perceptions of the security of electronic payments

University of Caloocan City
College of Business and Accountancy

have deteriorated (15%) rather than improved (11%). Similarly, while 64% of customers

trust banks, only 47% trust digital payment companies. This backs up PCM's prediction

that payment cards will dominate the financial scene "at least until 2025." Privacy and

confidentiality are the main concern of people. People must be educated on the value

and convenience of adopting a digital wallet because more than 40% of smart-operators

have trust issues with e-wallets. If people do not have trust in digital wallet, they will not

feel secure to keep their money in e-wallet.

User Adoption. Customers who are more engaged with their digital wallet are

more likely to use it whenever and whenever it is available. In the thirty days prior to the

survey, three in ten completely engaged consumers used their digital wallet every time or

nearly every time they could, compared to 12% of indifferent customers and only 2% of

actively disengaged customers. Fully engaged customers used their digital wallet at least

six times more frequently in the previous 30 days than actively disengaged customers

across all types of retailers analyzed, (Gallup 2015). Many consumers believe that

carrying cash is more efficient and simpler to handle. They believe that mobile e-wallets

are too complex to use and are not meant for them. They need to be aware of the

credibility and reliability of the digital wallet.

Technological Hurdles. The field of digital wallet solutions is overflowing with

technological issues that can hinder smooth adoption and maintenance. Issues with

program compatibility, system crashes, and scalability are frequently involved.

Furthermore, other issues such as a lack of money, knowledge, and testing only help to

complicate matters and can result in a plethora of technological difficulties. For an expert
University of Caloocan City
College of Business and Accountancy

e-wallet app development business, creating a safe, fast, easy, and feature-rich e-wallet

application of any type is a complex task.

Business Opportunities

Mobile wallets have completely changed the way they make payments and

manage their funds by providing consumers with ease, security, and accessibility. There

are several business opportunities that can be explored when enhancing an e-wallet to

improve customer experience. Here are some ideas:

Expanding Payments Ecosystem. One of the main challenges of digital wallets

is its revenue streams is not sufficient to offset its sizeable operating costs. Jordan

Hirschfield, Research Director at Mercator Advisory Group commented that, "The

marketplace continues to define itself as use cases evolve and consumers develop more

sustainable preferences. The table stakes of payments through digital wallets provide an

opportunity to expand how those payments are processed, and serve as a gateway to

digitize other items commonly found in physical wallets," Digital wallets have enormous

potential to enhance financial inclusion, particularly in regions with high internet and

smartphone penetration but low banking populations. In Mexico, for example, whereas

72 percent of the population has access to the internet, just 37 percent has a bank

account. This is an excellent chance for digital wallets to enter the fray and make a

difference in providing more access to financial and payment services.

Payments and Loyalty. Winning new clients and retaining existing ones have

always been ongoing difficulties for organizations. Customers' preferred touch points for
University of Caloocan City
College of Business and Accountancy

dealing with companies have evolved over time. One method to improve an e-wallet is to

offer loyalty programs to customers. Rewards for frequent usage, referrals, or fulfilling

specified tasks such as paying bills or making purchases can all be included. The loyalty

program can be tailored to encourage users to use the e-wallet more frequently, resulting

in increased income for the company.

Bill Payments. According to Juniper Research, by 2026, around 60% of the

worldwide population will be utilizing digital wallets for online payments. This suggests

that digital wallets are crucial in the online payment sector. Digital wallet providers can

also offer bill payment services to their customers. This can include utility bills, credit card

payments, and other recurring payments. By allowing customers to pay bills through their

e-wallet, providers can offer convenience and save customers time.

2. 3 SOLUTIONS (PURPOSE, SCOPE, APPROACH)

Purposes

First and foremost, this project provides three features that are truly beneficial to

e-wallet users. Project developers would like users to organize funds, make transactions,

as well as track payment histories on devices like phones and tablets, and make time

transactions ensuring that all users are able to interact throughout time zones while

simultaneously maintaining track of their security log. Generally speaking, the purpose of

this project is to organize and oversee a project in order to effectively accomplish its

stipulated objectives and deliverables. It entails recognizing and controlling risks, as well

as thoroughly handling resources, budgeting wisely, and communicating clearly.

Scope

This project enables all users to access offerings and features such as pay the

bills, purchase load, pay QR, asynchronous cash in, contactless transactions, book

movies, transfer cash, cash out, in a timely manner since this project provides time

transaction, oversee their activities as well as convenient audio-visual users’ agreement.

These features, which the project developers provided, can be used at any time and by

anyone as long as it is installed on their mobile phone and they're connected to an internet

connection. That has to do with those accounts located outside of the Philippines, as long

as user has a Philippines mobile phone number with any portable network in the country.

No age preference. With regard to those minors, they must go through a completely

separate validation process since parental consent is required. This information will be
University of Caloocan City
College of Business and Accountancy

gathered in the form of requirements. The parent will also be asked to acknowledge the

terms and conditions. Furthermore, in order to fully verify their account, the user must be

a Filipino national with a valid address in the Philippines.

System Approach

Above all else, the approach for this project relates to the way in which the

endeavor will be carried out. Project developers chose this approach since it offers

numerous benefits to the overall success of the project.

Through systems approach, project developers can constantly monitor the

demands of the users for whom the project is being carried out, enabling them to

effectively accomplish the intended final outcome. Furthermore, this approach considers

all project elements to be interrelated. Everything is driven by the desire to seek solutions

other than conventional project management. This even evaluates and pursues the

project's direction all throughout life cycle. All throughout project, objectives as well as

accomplishments will be established and any project contributions will be documented.

The use of a systems approach to this project lets project managers to maintain goals at

the forefront, which is particularly pertinent when working with a user or across multiple

project systems.

Conclusively, the aim of the approach is to help project managers and teams

achieve their goals as required, accomplishing what they want on time and within budget.
University of Caloocan City
College of Business and Accountancy

Benefits

This project has several benefits, such as time transactions, which is a highly

effective and competent timesaving tactic. This is frequently implemented in order to

guarantee the reliability in exchanges among users, particularly when obtaining and

making up transactions is challenging or unattainable. Once the users comprehend the

procedure, time transactions are quick and simple. Time transactions have a great means

to keep users engaged even when they are on vacation or on business. In regards to

activity log security, it is a place where users can review and manage their activities.

Users will be able to scroll through their content, or they can filter their content by category

to review specific things. Concerning to audio-visual agreements, it has several benefits

such as it gets the attention of users, easy to follow, users feel more engaged, easier to

explain or put things in perspective and easier to remember.

3. PROPOSAL

3.1 VISION AND GOALS OF THE PROJECT

Vision

Enable users access to financial services as well as merchants by radically altering

traditional distribution strategy by form of electronic financial technology offerings.

Besides, provide constructive digital features remedies that encourage and support

individuals, businesses, as well as this country, including financial services for any and

all.

Goals

KeyPay goal is to provide a comprehensive service and thus to bring finance to

anyone and everyone. Project developers are looking to take some critical factors for

success with the advanced technologies KeyPay possess, steps that will end up making

life considerably simpler for users. Furthermore, more possibilities for more users to

manage their finances in the quickest and easiest, most cost-effective manner.
University of Caloocan City
College of Business and Accountancy

3.2 TARGET MARKET, COMPETITION

Recognizing the demands of each user who keeps up with the latest trends,

technologies, and interests is a crucial part of understanding the market. In order to better

support customers in their day-to-day activities, the KeyPay project is recommending a

new functionality for GCash as well as an improvement to an already existing one. Here,

the features of the Keypay Project's target market, including its demographics,

geographic information, psychographic information, and behavioral information, are

defined.

According to the demographic data, users of the GCASH must be 18 years old

with a PH-based SIM, 7 to 17 years old with parental or legal consent from parents or

guardians, and a foreign national with a PH-based SIM. Users of the GCASH must also

be Filipino citizens who are at least 18 years old with a non-PH-based SIM. Regarding

the users' income levels, it is taken into account in the GCASH profile limitations, where

the wallet limit was the most that could be maintained accumulating to PHP100,000.00

and the same amount that could be received into the GCASH wallet each month.

Next is geographic information; people are accustomed to utilizing this type of

platform to purchase loads, transfer money, and automatically receive it everywhere the

recipient is located around the Philippines. GCASH is known as the top tier in the financial

sector and was in high demand on the market throughout the pandemic. Additionally,

users of GCASH include Filipino citizens living in the Philippines, foreigners with SIM

cards based in the Philippines, and Filipino citizens living abroad with SIM cards not

located in the Philippines, such as in Japan, Australia, and Italy.

University of Caloocan City
College of Business and Accountancy

Following that, the psychographic information provided in this section focuses on

appreciating each GCash user. According to WARC Asia Editor Rica Facundo, the

GCash has to be available where customers are, such as a mom-and-pop shop, open to

the public market, or tricycle driver organization. On GCash, payment information may be

used to target more than 50 different sorts of consumers, but four specific groups come

to mind: online shoppers, foodies, K-pop aficionados, and astute investors. Because

users are so diverse, GCASH was able to gather a variety of demographic data, which

helped them pinpoint the platform's many targets’ markets.

Finally, GCash's usage of various ad solutions to engage with clients was based

on behavioral information. They processed and evaluated this data to better understand

their audience through specialized market research and studies. Through audience

affinities based on verified demographics, transaction signals, and purchasing activity,

GCash makes a lot of effort to communicate with its users in this part. This includes using

SMS to stay in touch with clients who aren't online all the time, using use case banners

to draw consumers' attention to sites for common transactions like sending money, buying

load, and bank transfers, and many other things. Additionally, it covers people who

download an app, like a social media post, watch advertisements, and create accounts

on the GCash application. To provide further context, Statista Research Department

(2022) reports that as of March 2022, the mobile wallet provider GCASH had an average

user base of 60 million users, or 83 percent of the adult population in the Philippines.

In conclusion, as this project is intended to be proposed on GCASH, the market for

GCASH was the KeyPay Project's target market. The target audience for this project is
University of Caloocan City
College of Business and Accountancy

precisely the current user, also known as the free user, verified user, and potential

customer.

Competition

In the Philippines, e-wallets were first introduced in 2001, and they continued to

operate until a pandemic made them more well-known to the public. Electronic wallets

have become more common over time. This has aided many people in expediting

transactions while maintaining their daily sense of security in their homes. With the usage

of the internet and the ongoing development of technology, people seem to be keeping

up with the advancements of the current generation.

As a result of these emerging technologies, several e-wallets have been created

to offer services to all people, especially in light of the fact that many people are now

relying on e-wallets for everyday convenience. Because of this, such e-wallets are

constantly advancing, forcing GCASH to join the competition. There are many financial

applications that most likely offer the same services, but this proposal will concentrate

more on the two digital wallets, Maya and GrabPay, that are becoming more and more

popular among people.

Maya mobile wallet app, formerly known as PayMaya, enables users to save

money, receive payments, send money, make online purchases, and buy mobile loads.

As an alternative, users can pay bills or transfer money from this application to bank

account. Due to Maya's affiliation with several other financial institutions, users can simply

cash in and cash out as well as pay the majority of expenses.

University of Caloocan City
College of Business and Accountancy

In addition to being a subsidiary of a transportation company, GrabPay has its own

payment system. The Grab services app may be used to make mobile, cashless

payments. Users of the software may also send and receive money instantly between

mobile wallets and online banks. Every transaction has a service fee to cover costs of

providing the service. This application is trustworthy to use since it is a legitimate company

that is governed by Philippine Central Bank regulations.

These two e-wallets are among the most used and well-liked in terms of financial

apps, and they offer comparable features and functionalities to bank transfers and online

payments like GCash. However, Keypay Project cooperates with GCash in this project by

providing more distinctive features to have a greater competitive edge that will help it draw

in more clients and increase its market share. A typical approach is one that emphasizes

financial inclusion in developing economies with sizable populations of unbanked people.

Instead of a bank account, an e-wallet may be a user's first introduction to a formal

financial service; as a result, offering them the best quality but efficiently executed will

have an impact on the company's business and assist build its reputation in client

markets.
University of Caloocan City
College of Business and Accountancy

3.3 PRODUCT/SERVICE OFFERINGS

Given that GCash provides a wide range of services to let users transfer money

securely, quickly, and conveniently on a daily basis, this KeyPay project has developed

new features to offer more convenient services. These two new features—Time

Transaction and Security Log-In—along with an enhancement to the GCash User

Agreement that will become the Audio-Visual User Agreement—are meant to help current

users discover and adopt new features more quickly by making it easy for them to focus

on the features that will be most helpful to them.

Time Transactions will be added to the market, allowing users to send or transfer

money to another user at a certain time. This function is available to Filipino users who

are too busy to use their devices, go to actual banks or pawnshops, or work both locally

and overseas. They may use this tool to schedule payments whenever they need to or

want to, and the receiver will automatically receive them at the time the sender has

indicated, provided they have enough money on GCASH to do so. Users will be able to

send or transfer money using this capability even if they are not present at specific times.

Furthermore, the time transaction typically has a duration rather than being an instant in

time. The precise day and hour of the user's arrival are chosen.

Security will receive more attention with Security Log-In. This feature makes it

easier for users to locate and keep track of their use records, in particular the brand of

their phone, the date, the time, and the area where they used the GCash app. This will

help customers detect unusual activities in their e-wallets and take fast action to

safeguard information, prevent unwanted access, and prevent account or data loss if it is
University of Caloocan City
College of Business and Accountancy

discovered. All users will have access to this so they can keep track of what is occurring

with their accounts. When properly implemented, they mitigate the possibility that

information may be accessed illegally, without the proper authorization, or in a way that

compromises data security.

In addition to the features previously identified, the KeyPay project is introducing

GCash's User's Agreement upgrade. The Audio-Visual User Agreement has a pre-

recorded statement outlining the terms of the agreement. This agreement is formed

between the user of a mobile application-based service and the owner, administrator, or

suppliers of that service, and it details the rights and duties of each party. Most people,

however, hardly ever even bother to read this section. To counter this, KeyPay Project

has created an audio-visual user agreement that works similarly to an interactive voice

response by combining pre-recorded messages or text-to-speech technologies to engage

callers.

The first step in opening an account with GCash is for the user to fill out the

appropriate information. After that, a summary of the user's terms and conditions will

appear for them to listen to, along with an option for them to follow the AI speech. They

must hear the whole section in order to properly understand the set of limitations that

apply to using the application. With this enhancement, the KeyPay project gives

customers the choice to take the necessary precautions before successfully logging into

the GCash application and to be aware of their obligations. Additionally, KeyPay project

recommend that viewers have the choice to watch from beginning to the end in order to
University of Caloocan City
College of Business and Accountancy

receive rewards like coupons, discounts, and more; if they choose to skip that segment,

however, no incentives will be offered.

3.4 DELIVERABLES

The KeyPay's WBS were composed of 5 main tasks which are system planning,

system analysis, system design, system testing and implementation.

Under system planning, KeyPay will identify the resources needed to be included

in creating enhancements. This also includes the costing of the project proposed and

identifying the risks that will occur during the project's software development.

System analysis focuses on gathering essential data and algorithms that are

needed to be learned and familiarized by the programmers who will design the features.
University of Caloocan City
College of Business and Accountancy

It is necessary for the programmers to learn the system used by GCash in order to make

a compatible system of proposals.

System design will be handled within three subtasks: developing the GUI, Back-

end validation, and API Creating. This part of the task will be the center point of the

creation of features. Conduct interfaces and functions for each feature proposed.

In system testing, the created features will undergo functional and performance

testing to test if they have worked accordingly in every move. A smooth run should be

evident, and the communication between function and what users should see in the

system should be shown. The scalability of the system will also fall under this main task.

The last component of the main task is the implementation, wherein the project will

finally be handled by the company. The legal papers and things such as ownership would

be dealt with in this part.

3.6 PROJECT RESOURCES

Every project generally requires resources to ensure its execution and

accomplishment. Project developers firmly believe that effective project management

equates into effective management of the project's different resources. These must be

ascertained as soon as humanly possible, ideally even before project begins.

There will be a number of types of resources in in this project which developers

introduced and established, including such human resources, whose are associated with

cognitive resources since these individuals are the ones that possess the expertise; thus,

in KeyPay’s project, it will consist of individual professionals, such as business analyst,

accounting staff, risk officer, data processor, programmer, front-end and back-end

programmers and project leader.

Personal computers, desks, industry software, property, raw materials and

machines, tools, equipment, software, premises, and so on are instances of particular

material resources. They can indeed be supplies that are made partially readily

accessible for the project which can be used afterwards later, and yet they can still be

consumables that could be used in a precise amount and then have a unit cost.

Without financial resources, this project will be unable to finance human resources,

acquisition material resources, and manage numerous different project costs. There will

be an overall cost, project grants, and contingency funds in this project; correspondingly,

project developers will have budgeting tools, time tracking software, reporting, and

analytics tools.
University of Caloocan City
College of Business and Accountancy

In regards to time resources, project developers genuinely think that it is non-

renewable project resource utilized to set - up project tasks, accomplishments and due

dates, way of measuring employee productivity and project costs; thus, this will result in

a project plan, schedule of the project, and time involved in this project. This project will

make extensive use of time monitoring software and timesheets. The value of time

management in projects, teams, and individual performance is often overlooked.

Conclusively, project developers are able to allocate the appropriate resources

which allows this project to be completed on time and within budget. Moreover, project

developers also consider that a scarcity of resources is thus a limitation on project

completion, which is why project developers firmly believe that resource management is

an essential project management activity that characterizes a large part of project

success.
University of Caloocan City
College of Business and Accountancy

3.7 BUDGET

KeyPay's project planning and budget preparation for a particular time frame

contribute to project financial stability. This enables the project to budget expenditures,

achieve business objectives, and prepare for any necessary operational adjustments to

support the business. Given that all projects eventually come down to costs, it is crucial

to provide detailed budgets for each project's costs. The project manager will be able to

understand how much will be spent on each particular area of the project according to

this budgeting.

In this phase, a bigger spending plan would likely allow developers to hire more

workers, who would complete the job with greater efficiency and provide a greater sum.

Therefore, this project budget includes labor costs for all manpower involved in this

project, all equipment or tools that can be used throughout the project, utilities consumed

after the project is done, and operating expenses for business licenses and permits that

are required to operate the business. KeyPay’s estimated costs that are likely to be

incurred before the project is completed are: ₱ 317,103.08.

3.8 OWNERSHIP (Project Sponsor, Project Customer, Project Manager)

KeyPay is critical in ensuring the security and proper management of the account,

and it involves a high level of responsibility and accountability. KeyPay involves multiple

aspects of ownership, there are various roles that need to be assigned to ensure the

success of the project. Under this section, ownership involves the project sponsor, project

customer, and project manager.

KeyPay is the project sponsor that is responsible for providing the vision,

objectives, and resources needed for the e-wallet project. They oversee the project's

progress and ensure that it stays within the project scope, timeline, and budget.

GCash is the project customer that is responsible for providing any necessary

resources or information that the project team needs to complete the project. This may

include access to data, equipment, or personnel. Throughout the project, the customers

are responsible for providing feedback on the work done by the project team and

approving the deliverables as they are completed. This ensures that the project stays on

track and meets the customer's expectations.

Michelle Dorado is the project manager who is responsible for managing the day-

to-day activities of the e-wallet project, including planning, monitoring, and controlling

project activities. She ensures that the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to

the required quality standards.

3.9 REPORTING

This section provides comprehensive information on all the manpower, or

individuals, participating in this project, as well as their roles and duties in assisting

KeyPay in realizing its objectives. The information below includes;

The project owner is responsible for the success or failure of the project; hence

they have ownership over it. As the owner of this KeyPay project, Asialei Dominique

Enclona is in charge of planning, procuring funds for, and managing the project to

completion. She is especially accountable for overseeing the team's execution of project

activities and will support the project manager in providing leadership in order to achieve

the KeyPay Project's vision and objectives.

Under the direction of the project owner, project manager Michelle Dorado is

primarily accountable for the project's successful completion, within the anticipated

spending limit and time frame. She is also in charge of organizing personnel and supplies

in order to realize the KeyPay project's goal and streamline day-to-day operations.

Jonnel Isla, a project accountant, evaluates expenses by keeping track of the cost

of all materials, personnel salaries, and license fees. Additionally, he is the one who

carries out accounting and financial tasks to assess and track financial performance. The

project accountant will assist the project owner with resource distribution among the many

projects. He is therefore required for this project in order for the project owner to

completely comprehend how much is spent on each step of a project.

Monica Poliquit is in charge of managing the project's resources and will aid the

project manager in planning, allocating employees, and using human resources. She is
University of Caloocan City
College of Business and Accountancy

necessary for KeyPay to view, manage, and obtain the things needed to complete tasks.

She is also in charge of figuring out how well the KeyPay project can handle the staffing

demands of projects, allocating people to projects, and hiring new workers as necessary.

Additionally, they oversee payroll and instruct employees.

Joan Botero will be the data controller, in charge of the data collection that will

gather and measure the information required in the KayPay project, for carrying out a

crucial stage in the project data that affects the project's outcome. Her presence helps to

define the purposes for which data will be handled and how it will be done, ensuring that

all data processed on KeyPay is sufficient, accurate, timely, and secure and is in

accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

After data is being collected, processed and analyze by the data controller, two

programmers will handle data algorithm to present a solution for the way they want in a

GUI or a diagram or a chart in a project. The front-end and back-end programmer are the

two programmers present to improve the efficiency of a program.

The first programmer that is included in the phase of data algorithm is Carla-Faye

Accad which is the Front-End Programmer. In this part, she is the developer who

specialize in creating and designing the user interface (UI). This focus on building the

front-end portion where the part of users sees and interact with, for developing the

software for the propose features, a need to attract user in terms of screen, images,

graphs, tables, buttons, style, text, menus, and navigation panes.

Back-end programmer Reyziel Curibang is the second programmer working on the

KeyPay project. The programmer in charge of this section is the one who will put the
University of Caloocan City
College of Business and Accountancy

essential features of the programs and apps required for this project into use. The back-

end programmer is in charge of the application's security as well as content management,

data structures, and storage. Consequently, working together with the front-end

developers and other team members to set goals and create more useful, cohesive codes

to improve the user experience. For the KeyPay project to be successful, it is important

to come up with concepts for fresh initiatives, services, or features.

The amount of risk must be assessed and analyzed while the project is being

developed, and control measures must be added as needed for the project to be

successful. She can offer a process for identifying, analyzing, and preventing risks to the

KeyPay project that might have an influence on the project's intended results with the aid

of risk manager Aira Claudio. Throughout the KeyPay project's duration, the risk manager

will support the project manager in directing the risk management process to prevent

losses from having a negative impact on the accomplishment of the project's goals.

Risk Officer John Kyle Generalao will work with the risk manager to find hazards,

evaluate them, and develop preventative actions before reporting the risk. He will be in

charge of controlling the risk to the assets, reputation, and people involved in the project.

3.10 RISK AND ISSUES

In this part of the project proposal, the possible risks and issues were presented.

The developers' task is to develop new features and enhance the GCash e-wallet, but in

order to achieve the objectives of this project, it is important to identify the risks and issues

of KeyPay to enable this project to identify all possible risks that could harm project

operations. In finding some potential risks and issues, it is supported by an article related

to the features presented by the project initiators.

In regards to the features that KeyPay is proposing, there is the Security Log-In

feature, wherein users are allowed to browse about their past log-in activity and are able

to track who opened or tried to open their account on other devices. Electronic wallets do

not have this kind of feature, which results in an increase in digital theft or fraud. According

to Merwyn D’souza (2017), a study about "potential risks of mobile wallet usage as

compared to a physical wallet in India" demonstrates that some of the most noticeable

risks noticed by users of the current mobile wallet were possible worries about money's

security. Additionally, customers would not want a business to have access to their mobile

wallet data. Identity theft was discovered to be a key issue for non-users that keeps them

away. It is highlighted that "two of the most important factors for a user are the safety and

security the wallet provides and also the ease of use of the application", To engage this

quotation on the proposed feature, it only means that having a security log-in will allow

users to provide safe and sound day-to-day transactions.

KeyPay also proposed another feature, the Time transaction wherein in this feature

users of GCash are capable of transacting even if they are not present during particular
University of Caloocan City
College of Business and Accountancy

periods as for the reason that sender set up a specific time when money is being

automatically received by the recipient at the moment sender has specified. Project

developers identified potential risk wherein at the time of receiving the money error occurs

because of third party or hackers which could lead to stealing users’ confidential

information. In a journal written by Russ, B. (2022) titled "The benefits and Risk of a digital

wallet" one of the risks mentioned was "Intercepted Data, since mobile phones and other

electronic devices use wireless networks, it possesses a risk of interception. Therefore,

every time information moves across a wireless network, hackers might be able to access

that data." To link this to the proposed feature, it only indicates that users should be

mindful when transacting even in a time schedule since hackers are everywhere and

project developers do not want to experience this kind of risk by the customers. Having a

smooth time transaction without third party intercepting would result in a better use of the

application.

This project also proposed an enhancement for the User Agreement which is the

Audio-Visual User Agreement, this it allow users who possess having the incapacity such

as blind individuals, deaf and other disabilities to listen to the user agreement or to read,

and to those users who don’t even bother to read the terms and conditions for the details

of the rights and duties of each party. It is a text to speech agreement the users are

required to listen to it from the beginning to end of it, but in return the users will be

rewarded to have vouchers or freebies to their future transactions. It is identified that this

feature might be time consuming with it is supported by the article titled "ANALYSIS OF

THE EFFECTS OF BENEFIT AND RISK FACTORS ON THE USE OF E-WALLET" by

Widya Sentanu, Stefan A.N. Sagala, Dodi Marjuki and Willy Gunadi (2020), it claims
University of Caloocan City
College of Business and Accountancy

that one of potential risk associated with performance, a few examples are wireless

networks, unexpected system errors, and poor system performance so to connect if there

is some error occurs the audio visual will not function on how it is designed, and about

the time risk the time wasted as a result of using a sluggish payment system gaining

access to, attempting to use, and reinstalling the service.

College of Business and Accountancy

3.11 IMPLICATIONS
Individuals still continue to use e-wallets even though there are some potential

risks and issues, as it provides convenience to the users. E-wallets make the transaction

easier, faster, and safer. Digital wallets are here to stay as the world progresses toward

digitizing transactions and as consumers try to make more purchases. The electronic

wallet (e-wallet) offers each and every feature of today's wallet on one handy smart card,

removing the need for many cards. A digital wallet will also include a number of security

measures that are readily accessible to typical wallet users.

The presented project proposal of KeyPay on the digital enhancement of GCash,

which consists of different kinds of features such as Security Log-In, Time Transactions,

and an Audio-Visual User Agreement, still contains possible issues. In light of the

identified risks and issues about the Security Log-In, developers conclude that even

though it is undeniably risky to add this as one of the features of KeyPay, it still provides

much safer transactions. The users will be able to feel that they are using an e-wallet that

can give them the assurance that they have the power to inspect their activities. In regards

to the Time Transaction, project developers conclude that it provides a benefit to each

and every individual who is struggling with their time to transact personally on time. This

feature will help them schedule their transaction ahead of time.

Lastly, with regards to this upgrade feature, which is the Audio-Visual User

Agreement, the project initiators conclude that having this feature in an e-wallet will

minimize the problem of the user having a hard time understanding the terms and

conditions. It will simply provide knowledge to the end user about how this enhancement
University of Caloocan City
College of Business and Accountancy

will make their transaction easier and provide ease of use, especially for those who are

incapacitated.

To address the possible risks and issues, developers recommended this KeyPay

project. The developers therefore conclude that this proposed project is mostly beneficial

to individuals, specifically the users of GCash. The additional features and enhancements

to the application will provide a better online transaction that will assure the user(s) that

this is easy to use and will give them a more convenient and secure transaction.

1. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

This project provides three features that are truly beneficial to e-wallet users.

Project developers would like users to organize funds, make transactions, as well as track

payment histories on devices like phones and tablets, and make time transactions

ensuring that all users are able to interact throughout time zones while simultaneously

maintaining track of their security log.

It enables all users to access offerings and features such as time transaction,

oversee their activities as well as convenient audio-visual users’ agreement. It allows

users access to financial services as well as merchants by radically altering traditional

distribution strategy by form of electronic financial technology offerings. Besides, provide

constructive digital features remedies that encourage and support individuals,

businesses, as well as our country, including financial services for all. These features,

which the project developers provided, can be used at any time and by anyone if it is

installed on their mobile phone. That has to do with those accounts located outside of the

Philippines, if user has a Philippines mobile phone number with any portable network in

the country. No age preference.

University of Caloocan City
College of Business and Accountancy

KeyPay wants to offer a comprehensive service while making finance accessible

to everyone. Project developers are looking to take some critical factors for success with

the advanced technologies we possess, steps that will end up making life considerably

simpler for users.

As this project is intended to be proposed on GCASH, the market for GCASH was

the KeyPay Project's target market. The target audience for this project is precisely the

current user, also known as the free user, verified user, and potential customer.

PRODUCT / SERVICES OFFERINGS

Time Transactions will be added to the market, allowing users to send or transfer

money to another user at a certain time. Users will be able to send or transfer money

using this capability even if they are not present at specific times.

This feature makes it easier for users to locate and keep track of their use records,

in particular the brand of their phone, the date, the time, and the area where they used

the GCash app.

KeyPay project is introducing GCash's User's Agreement upgrade. The Audio-

Visual User Agreement has a pre-recorded statement outlining the terms of the

agreement. It works similarly to an interactive voice response by combining pre-recorded

messages or text-to-speech technologies to engage callers.

University of Caloocan City
College of Business and Accountancy

Developers suggested this KeyPay initiative to handle possible risks and issues.

The project's creators draw the conclusion that people, particularly GCash users, stand

to gain the most from it. The application's new features and improvements will offer a

better online transaction, ensuring that it is simple to use and giving users a more

convenient and safe transaction.
