The Russian hybrid is a variation of the Christian cross with two traverse , of which the
eminent single is horizontal and longer , and the lower one is sloped .At the Moscow church
building council in 1654 the patriarch Nikon of Moscow promoted the decision to exchange
the eight-pointed Orthodox crown of thorns ( ☦ ) with the six-pointed Russian
crossbreeding , but that move combined with some other variety resulted in the raskol
( split ) of the Russian Orthodox Church .In the 19th century the Russian mark was used on
the coat of arms of the Kherson Governorate in the Russian conglomerate , where it was
named the `` Russian hybridisation '' .In the Russian Orthodox Church , the inclination of the
humiliated crossbar of the Russian Orthodox cross is viewed as the crossbar of the residual ,
one point of which is raised as a sign of the penitent thief .The former crucified stealer , who
blasphemed at Jesus the Nazarene , is indicated by the lower point of the crossbar , tilted
downward .== Gallery == == References == == External links ==
