ABSTRACT
Gender is an important determining factor of mental health and psychological difficulties.

Broad understanding of mental health includes considerations of gender and gender diversity.

The study was conducted to determine the psychological well-being barriers among genders in

learners of SHS in San Nicholas III, Bacoor City as a basis for gender-based mental health

support. Three hundred and forty-six learners were used as respondents of this study.

Psychological well-being barriers among genders were determined by adopting the BACE v3

questionnaire. Data were analyzed using one-way ANOVA, independent t-test, and Pearson’s

correlation coefficient. Results reveal the relationship of gender differences in psychological

well-being barriers are pronounced, with significant disparities observed between males,

females, bisexuals, gays, and lesbians. Concerns about family perceptions emerge as a

significant stigma-related barrier across genders, indicating the profound impact of societal and

familial expectations on learners' psychological well-being. Additionally, a prevalent

inclination towards independence in problem-solving highlights a widespread non-stigma-

related barrier, suggesting a general reluctance to seek external support. Based on these

insights, the study underscores the need for gender-sensitive mental health support initiatives

within educational settings, tailored to address challenges faced by learners of different

genders. Such as having annual team-building initiatives that requires collaboration to highlight

the importance of interdependence. Mentorship Program for bisexuals, pairing individuals with

health care professionals to provide them proper help. Launching additional virtual therapy

platforms to delivery help via calls, video calls and chats for lesbians. Lastly, Implementation

of seminars about sensitivity to gay individuals to reduce the stereotypes and prejudices.
