B. RESEARCH QUESTION

Living in a country with one of the highest number of beauty pageants won in history,

it is unsurprising that the cosmetics and beauty market continues to flourish. Taking that into

consideration, the researchers aims to contribute something to the society by creating a cheap

and accessible loose face powder made from the Coconut (Cocos Nucifera). This study aims

to answer the following questions.

a. Is it possible to turn coconut (cocos nucifera) into a loose face powder?

b. What is the best state the coconut should be before turning it into a loose face powder?

c. What is the best technique to use in generating loose face powder from the coconut?

d. What are the benefits of the Coconut (cocos nucifera) as a Potential Loose Face Powder?

e. What chemical compounds present in the coconut could cause harm to the users?

C. GOALS

This research study's null hypothesis states that "The feasibility of the "Coconut

(Cocos Nucifera) as Potential Loose face powder is low."

D. EXPERIMENTAL SETUP

MATERIALS

The following materials are used to create the loose face powder.

• Coconut. • Strainer

• Mortar. • Kaolin clay

• Pestle. • Grinder

• Tray. • Spoon

• Scraper

PROCEDURE

This research study entitled "Coconut (Cocos Nucifera) as a Potential Loose Face

Powder" was conducted with the main purpose of creating a new product that could help the

locals of our country in improving their skin condition. The researchers initially establishes

the desired tone of the loose face powder they aim to produce. The researchers is targeting a

translucent powder and opts not to include any color additives. In the process of making the

loose face powder, the researchers first washed the two coconuts, 1 young (buko) and 1

matured (niyog). Then, the researchers break the coconut shell to get the coconut meat. Then

the researchers used the scraper to yield a fine coconut meat. After getting the coconut meat,

the researchers weight the meat so that there would only 250g of matured (niyog) and young

(buko) coconut meat in the tray. the researchers used mortar and pestle to yeild a loose

powdered form of the coconut. If In some cases the coconut cannot be turned into a loose

face powder the researchers will go into the (gilingan) to put the coconut meats in its

powdered form. After acquiring 250g of loose coconut powder, in a mixing bowl, the
researchers blended the coconut meat powder with white cosmetic clay or kaolin clay

together. After thoroughly mixing all the ingredients, the researchers transfered the loose

powder into a clean and dry airtight container for storage, ensuring that there is no

contamination. Subsequently, the researchers will label the container with the creation date

and any pertinent details, including the tone or ingredients utilized.

E. RISK AND SAFETY

While using coconut (Cocos Nucifera) as a potential face powder can offer various

benefits, it's essential to consider potential risks and safety precautions:

Allergic Reactions

Some individuals may be allergic to coconut or its derivatives. Allergic reactions can

manifest as redness, itching, swelling, or hives on the skin. It's crucial to perform patch tests

before widespread application and discontinue use if any adverse reactions occur.

This research study entitled, "Coconut (Cocos Nucifera) As a Potential Loose Face

Powder" will be conducted with the main purpose of creating a new product that could help

the locals of our country in improving their skin conditions. To gather the necessary data for

the development of the study, the researchers will use experimental research design to know

the best state and technique turning the coconut into a loose face powder would be more

effective. After the necessary data is gathered, the researchers will use mean, standard

deviation and mode in analyzing the contents of the data. The researchers will use mean and

standard in analyzing the best technique in which the coconut will be more effective if turned

into a loose face powder. Also, the researchers will use mode in identifying at what state the

coconut will be most effective if turned into a loose face powder. Then, the analyze data will

undergo a series of checking and proof reading to have a more accurate findings. Finally, the

researchers will conclude based on the analyzed data.
