BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

As a country, with one of the highest numbers of

beauty pageant crowns won in history, it is perhaps
unsurprising that the beauty and cosmetics market
continues to flourish in the Philippines. Along with the
popularity of foreign skincare products comes the growing
demand for cosmetic and personal care items suited for
Filipino skin. While most of these products were sold in
retail shops and malls, the country’s high internet
penetration rate fueled the retail e-commerce scene,
further contributing to the growth of the country’s
cosmetics and personal care markets.

The beauty industry in the Philippines is thriving,

fueled by the strong consumer demand for a wide range of
beauty products. Understanding the factors that drive
this demand is crucial for businesses to succeed in this
competitive market.

According to statista.com, the cosmetics and

personal care market in the Philippines includes various
brands and products that supplement the varying customer
needs. Across segments, personal care contributes the
highest share of revenue, followed by skincare. Leading
personal care brands were Colgate, Cream Silk, and Green
Cross, alongside shampoo and body wash labels. With this
in mind the researchers thought of creating a new product
with the purpose of contributing to the skin care
industry of our country. it is needlessly to say that,
Philippines has a widespread production of coconuts. In
fact, according to, the Food and Agriculture Organization
of the United Nations, Coconut is one of the most
important crops in the Philippines with the country being
the second largest coconut producer in the world. Taking
that into account the researchers generated the idea of
creating loose face powder from the coconut.

The researchers thought that coconut has a lot of

benefits that could improve the skin condition if used
properly. According to, nivea.uk, the fatty acids that
coconut oil contains, namely lauric and capric acid, are
fantastic at keeping skin healthy due to their
antimicrobial properties that mean they kill harmful
microorganisms that can grow on our skin. Also according
to, us.embryollisse.com, Coconut milk is rich in
magnesium, sugars, amino acids, vitamin C,
polysaccharides, and phenolic compounds such as
anthocyanins and flavonoids. In the Exfoliating Milk
Powder, coconut milk powder envelops the skin in a
nourishing embrace, leaving it as soft as a baby's. Base
on this articles, coconut have a lot of benefits that
could be the base of this research study.

Taking these articles into account, the researchers,

came up with the idea of creating a beauty product that
could contribute to the growing skin care industry of the
country and conducted this study entitled " Coconut
(Cocos Nucifera) as a Potential Loose Face Powder" with
the main purpose of determining the feasibility of the of
the product.

CONCLUSION
To review, this research study entitled “Coconut
(Cocos Nucifera) as a Potential Loose Face Powder” offers
valuable insights into the potential of this new and
sustainable loose face powder in contributing to the
skincare industry. As a country, with one of the highest
beauty pageants crowns won in history, it is unsurprising
to have a thriving skincare industry. With the growing
demand for skincare products within the country, the
researchers sought a new product which is sustainable and
easily accessible leading to the creation of this
product.

The researchers conducted this study to determine

the feasibility and benefits of the Coconut Loose Face
Powder. The researchers conducted an experiment, to
determine what type of Coconut would be the most
beneficial if turned into a Loose Face Powder. After
thoroughly studying the attributes of the Young (buko)
and Matured (niyog) Coconuts, the researchers discovered,
that the powder produced from the Young Coconut (buko),
exudes a sweet aroma, white/milky appearance, and almost
dry oil content/texture. This discovery lead the
researchers to ascertain that the Coconut Loose Face
Powder has the right set of attributes a loose face
Powder should have.

After determining what type of coconut is compatible

when turned into a Loose Face Powder, the researchers
evaluated the product along five (5) participants who
gave their consents. The researchers came to know, that
the the “Coconut (Cocos Nucifera) as a Potential Loose
Face Powder” has the potential to become a product that
could contribute to the thriving skincare of the country,
as it the overall impression the product has with the
participants is 4.4 which is verbally interpreted as
satisfied.

Coconuts enjoyed for centuries in many

civilizations, provides something unique to the skincare
industry in the country. Exploring their potential as a
loose face powder could improve the tap by adding rich
ethnicity and new cultural depth. A sustainable item for
a sustainable world.

participant evaluations revealed overall satisfaction
with the coconut loose face powder. This research offers
insights into a sustainable and culturally rich skincare
solution, aligning with the country's beauty industry and
contributing to its thriving skincare market.

measure the differences of the second set. Using this
research design, the researchers gathered the data
involving the feasibility and the benefits to the human
skin that the "Coconut (Cocos Nucifera) As a Potential

regarding the benefits of Coconut to the human skin.
Additionally, the researchers used a Likert scale to find
out how satisfied the respondents are to the effects of
the product. Composed of four (4) close-ended questions
and one (1) Likert scale question, with the scales 1-5,
1 (very unsatisfied), 2 (unsatisfied), 3 (neutral), 4
