Assalamualaikum and a very good

morning to the honourable judges, teachers, and friends. My
name is Aimi Syifa binti Azamuddin. I am from 3 Amanah. The
title of my poem is THIRTY-FIRST AUGUST.

Thirty-first August,
Malaysians celebrating.
Watching the fireworks.
Been sixty-six years,
We had this, Independence.
Cherish it, save it.

Thirty-First August,
On this day,
We proudly stand,
A nation strong
With hearts so free
And spirits high.

We raise our flag up to sky,

With gratitude.
We remember those who fought for us
Against dominion enemy
Their courage,
Their sacrifice,
We hold in stories passed and tales retold.

Soldiers marching, tanks passing, jets flying,

As they are vanguard of The Independent.

Malays, Chinese, Indians, and minority,

We are brothers and sisters,
We shall stay unite,
we shall fight,
we shall protect the right.
