Elc590 Lecturer's Guidelines For Informative Speech
● Students may work / discuss in groups but the speech must be presented individually.
● Students will select their own speech topics (any topics of student's choice).
● Students should propose at least 3 topics for the activity (only ONE (1) topic will be selected)
(students need lecturer’s approval before they start working on the assessment).
● Students present a complete Informative Speech (Introduction, Body - 2 main ideas &
Conclusion).
● Students identify the materials and relevant information from various sources.
● Presentations are to be recorded on any suitable online platform (Meet / Zoom / Webex etc)
or on mobile phones / any appropriate apps.
● Recordings are to be uploaded into Google Classroom (eg. Submission of links via
Classwork--Question).
● Assessments are reviewed for feedback purposes (lecturer intervention can be done via any
suitable platform synchronously / asynchronously).
● Submission of speech should be done during class hour (latest should be at the end of
Wk. 8).
● Lecturers refer to evaluation form, descriptors & rubrics for Assessment 1: Informative
Speech.
● Any late submissions should not be compromised (unless permission has been obtained from
the lecturers in advance).
