2. Due to the different contributions of each lodging business, it improves the way of life of the people
in today's society. Because of the lodging industry, people who travel and are away from their homes for
more than a day can find a safe and comfortable place to stay for the night. As time passes, it has a
significant impact on the economy of the country, which is caused by a large number of running lodging
businesses. Because of each lodging business, it also helps the industry to have a higher rate of
employees needed; it helps the economy to increase; and because of the increasing rate of tourists who
stay in different hotels in a particular country, it may also affect its economy.

3. As I have comprehended each of the deadly sins in customer service, for me, the most crucial sin that
an employee in the hospitality industry should not do inside his/her workplace is the "brush-off" sin. If
you are working in the hospitality industry, you must always be respectful and have a positive attitude
towards each customer that you encounter inside your workplace. According to this sin, brushing-off a
customer indicates that you are not showing good ethics, respect, and professionalism in your
workplace because brushing-off a customer indicates that you are not paying attention to what the
customer is saying to you, and you tend to skip your customer and choose to jump on the next customer
instead of entertaining the customer's requests or complaints. It is crucial to remember to not brush off
the person who you are talking to because this is where we can show that we respect them as a person
and we care about what they are saying.
4. As indicated in the presentation, the gaining point or the momentum of hospitality and tourism,
which became the best industries, was the advent of air travel in the 20th century. In this industry, a lot
of trends have been created, such as using technology to communicate with the customer, and due to
this advancement, the customer can also easily book their rooms online or even by the use of
telephones or mobile phones, which were previously available to the masses to use. In this era of the
20th century, a lot of business travelers became the most important guests because they were the ones
who always needed to travel for work, and this era became more convenient for them because their air
travel became less hassle due to the innovation of the hospitality industry in a lot of countries in the
world.

5. Compared to the hotels during the 19s and 20s, there were a lot of improvements in the hospitality
and tourism industry. For instance, in the 19th century, the way of booking their rooms in hotels was to
book themselves physically, wherein they could only book a room by going into the hotel physically, but
nowadays, in the 20th century, guests can also book a room in a hotel by the use of technology or
mobile phones. By this comparison, we can really see that there have been a lot of changes in our
lodging business from before until then. Because of the innovation in the hospitality industry, a lot of
trends have been set. For instance, they use branding and strategic locations in order to promote their
hotels and gain a lot of tourists or guests from different countries.
