Subject: Letter of Clarification and Apology

Respected Ma’am,

We, the Union of the Department of Journalism, deeply regret the miscommunication that has taken place
with respect to sanctioned funds and raising in-kind sponsorships for Juxtapose 24 that took place on
20th and 21st March 2024.

However, we would humbly also like to bring to your notice that the Department received in-kind
sponsorships earlier before covid until 2020 since the period of Dr. Meenakshi Gopinath(certificate proofs
for 2018 & 2020 attached for the same). Along with this we would like to put forth the annual fee that is
paid by our students i.e Rs.29,000(highest fee amongst all other courses) and hence we request you to
kindly consider this and relieve the burden that may fall on students in case of no sanctioned funds from
the college for our annual academic meet. The Union would further like to add about how raising in-kind
sponsorships adds to the practical and industrial exposure as per the demand of our course unlike other
theoretical courses and therefore, such hands-on experiences can be gained only through such
collaborations and partnerships that we get to do only through our annual academic meet. This year’s
Juxtapose has proven to have greater success rate because of the same since the covid.

However, we sincerely apologize for the miscommunication that might have caused from our end. We
would like to take this opportunity to let you know that we, the department of journalism, were never with
any ill intent towards the college’s rules and ethos. We shall ensure that such troubles will not be caused
in the near future.

Hence, we request you to sanction the reimbursement of the expenditure incurred(the yellow form of the
division and funds used is attached) under the Rs.20,000, budget allocated to the department’s academic
meet, which was spent by the student body so as to not cause any burden on our students.
