Introduction:
Abrotanum has been celebrated as a popular medicine
since antiquity. It was introduced by Deventer into
homoeopathy. It has got reputation in cases of marasmus in
children and rheumatism caused by checked natural secre-
tions.
Causations:
1. Suddenly checked diarrhoea or other bodily
secretions.
2. Malnutrition due to defective digestion or absorp-
tion.
3. After operation upon the chest for hydrothorax (if
pressing sensation persists).
Constitution:
1. Appearance : Marasmus of lower extremities (Apis,
mel., Arg. nit., Ars. alb,, Calc. carb., Plumb., Sanic,
Upper - Plumb., Iod., Lyco.).
2. Temperament : (a) Ill-natured (b) Inhuman.
Likes to do something cruel.
3. Miasm : Psoric and sycotic.
4. Diathesis : Tubercular.

~~1 ACETIC ACID
Syn. : Acetic acid glacial. CH3 COOH.
Introduction:
From ancient time, it has been used successfully in the
form of inhalation of vapour of cider vinegar in croup and
malignant diphtheria. In homoeopathy, this remedy is useful
in complaints of pale, sickly people. Patients who have been
weak for many years, have phthisis and manifest emaciation,
anaemia, loss of appetite, burning thirst, copious pale urine
usually call for Acetic acid.
Causations :
1. General a p p e a r a n c e :
Lean, pale and sickly people. Pale, waxen face (Fer.
met.). Limbs appear to be semitransparent. Limbs and
abdomen are swollen.
2. Temperament : Nervous temperament.
3. Miasm : Psoric and sycotic.
4. Diathesis : Tubercular.
Mental G e n e r a l s :
1. Irritable due to abdominal complaints.
2 Anxiety is marked.
3. Delirium associated with gastro-intestinal complaints.
4. Confusion of ideas, she can hardly express herself.
