Rhetorical Analysis

I thought it would be important that it can be viewed as a fun activity whilst supporting

the community with their family. The one thing I struggled with when putting together a

fundraiser is making sure that people do understand our purpose on a deeper level. With a flyer

it can be hard to put into account where the money being fundraised is going towards without

making it with too many words. It can be inferred with the people viewing and considering

participating in our fundraiser is involved with the community in one way or another. With that

in mind my team has already put out a newsletter and a social media post prior to this flyer to

being released. This has given them an understanding of our mission beforehand. If they have

not been informed on our mission, I made a brief description of our goal and listed our website

for more details.

To make sure the people are interested I made sure to make it sound exciting by

showing pictures of things that are appealing and fun to families. Another important element

was the use of an exclamation mark after “Softball Tournament” creating an instant attraction
and excitement to the flyer. The use of color and not making a long read made it visually

aesthetic and effective.

My main audience would undoubtedly be families that know or are directly affected by

student with a disability. I find that they will be eager to help the people they know because of

how challenging a problem like this can be to conquer. Another audience could be high school

students because of the activity and their compassion as well. People love to make the world a

better place especially within education, they also enjoy getting the community together and

playing sports. When you combine those things with the proper preparation there can be a

huge

turnout for the event and more importantly raise funds for a good cause.

When it comes to where people can find the flyer would be varied between

printed and digital for maximum viewers. They could be posted on our social media account, in

the newspaper or hung up in town. This could be placed virtually anywhere because of the

public

agreeance of the topic. With the pandemic’s recent effects, change is required at this time fast.

decided to make one flyer to be placed where kids may see it more often such as social media

or
school. I made this one flashier and more outgoing. The other flyer was aimed at parents with a

more structured design rather than the students. I wanted to make sure the message was

almost

the same to avoid confusion between the students and parents.
