WHAT ARE
DIGITAL PLANNERS
INTRODUCTION

A digital planner is a digital version of the traditional paper planner.

Most are designed to be interactive PDFs containing hyperlinked tabs,
helping you jump to the page you want.

The way digital planning works is by uploading a PDF file of the planner
to a note-taking app and using it on your iPad or tablet. Then, you can
write on your planner using a stylus or Apple Pencil.

The tools that you need to start planning and using your digital planner
are the following:

TOOLS YOU NEED

a pdf file of a digital planner

a tablet or iPad

a stylus like the Apple Pencil

a note-taking app like NoteShelf,

GoodNotes, Notability, etc.

Not sure which app to use? It depends on which device or

tablet you have and your note-taking preferences.

iPad: Goodnotes, Noteshelf, and Notability

Android: Noteshelf

Once you've chosen your app, purchase it and make sure it's
updated.

FROM DROPBOX
USING THE SAFARI BROWSER

3 After downloading your files, a

PDF with a link to access your
Digital Planner and Sticker Files

files will display. Click on it, and

the planner files will open in the
Dropbox Safari Browser.

Select the download button to

download all the files at once.

A message will appear asking

Confirm by selecting the Digital Sticker Files.zip

STORING THE FILES

ON YOUR TABLET
USING THE FILES APP

5 Once you download the files

following the previous steps, the
planner files will open in the
Files App of your tablet.
Digital Planner.zip

It will be stored in the

Downloads folder as a zipped
file.

6 To unzip the folder, click on

the zipped file and the folder
will appear on the side. Digital Planner.pdf

Digital Planner

Now, you can access all the files

inside the folder.

IMPORT INTO A
NOTE-TAKING APP
GOODNOTES OR NOTESHELF

To recap, after downloading the files, the

planner will open in the Files App of
your iPad, in the Downloads folder.

Select the planner and click on the

Share icon on the menu, then select
your note-taking app.

Which note-taking app do you have?

Follow these instructions.

GoodNotes: It will automatically open.

Choose a location and click the import
Digital Planner
as a new document button.

NoteShelf: It will automatically open,

but if a message appears, click on Create
New.

HOW TO CLICK ON THE TABS AND WRITE

CLICK ON THE TABS WRITE ON THE PLANNER

For the tabs to work, you
need to be in the Read-Only
Mode in GoodNotes. The
pencil icon should look like
the icon above.
This mode lets you navigate
through your pages
comfortably.
All other inputs, like the pen,
are blocked when this mode
is active.
GOODNOTES
To be able to write on your
planner, you need
to deselect the Read-Only
Mode in GoodNotes.
You can use writing tools like
a pen and highlighter in this
mode.
So, make sure the pencil
icon in the top right corner
of GoodNotes looks like the
one above.

HOW TO CLICK ON THE TABS AND WRITE

Note: The following instructions apply when the option Disable

hyperlinks when writing is selected. You can find this option in the
settings section of NoteShelf and selecting Advanced.

For the tabs to work, you If you are in Read-Only

need to be in the Read-Only
Mode in NoteShelf. Click the
icon above on the right side
of the toolbar.
This mode lets you navigate
through your pages
comfortably while blocking all
other inputs, like the pen,
highlighter, and eraser.
Mode, select the Edit button
and choose a writing tool.
If you are not in Read-Only
Mode, choose any of the
following writing tools:

1 Files App: Once you've

downloaded the zipped file, it will
open in the Files App of your
iPad in the Downloads Folder.

Unzip the folder by tapping on it

once. Then, find Digital Cover
Pages folder and open the
folder to view the cover pages.
2 Import: To change the current
cover page, go to the cover page
in GoodNotes, then click Add
page icon on the top right corner

and select Import. Select a new

Then, delete the old cover page

by clicking the three dots at the
top right corner and hit Move
Page to Trash.

Noteshelf, then click Edit on the

Digital stickers are PNG files with an image and a transparent

background that you can import to your planner to up-level your
planning experience. Here are two options:

USING PNG DIGITAL

STICKERS IN GOODNOTES
DIGITAL STICKERS OPTION 1

Select the Elements Tool icon on the top menu and
create a new collection by importing your stickers directly
from your photo album or Files app.

To move them, select the lasso tool, circle the sticker,

press on it, and hold to reveal the edit options.

Download the sticker file following the previous steps and find the
file that ends in .goodnotes Then, import it into GoodNotes.

Tap the lasso tool and Go to the page in your planner

Photo option. Choose the Insert From option and find the
sticker folder, select them and click open.

Once imported, select the lasso tool and select the sticker
to reveal the options of: edit, copy, paste, and resize.
